Not a major move by any means. Still, it's a bit interesting considering the teams involved and the standings. Malgin brings more NHL experience, offensive upside and centre/winger versatility. We'll see where this goes, and also whether anything else materializes.

Marchment was up with the leafs and didn't have speed to go with the size and limited upside. Malgin actually has NHL potential

Oh I don’t care about Marchment. Just don’t understand the 5’9” stockpile we have going on. Like how many of Petan, Malgin, Carcone do we need to constantly add to the organization? Like one day one will pan out? Why not just grab a draft pick or a warm body who can displace Martin Marincin?

Marchment didn't appear to be an NHL player, whereas I believe Malgin is. So, whether he amounts to much or not, I think it's a sound trade.
