I would trade four first round picks for only a few nhl players in the league. Seth jones isn't one of those.

Edit: Just to add as great as the value is for the jackets in terms of pure value. Why do the trade one of there three potential number one dmen ( and the best one right now). They have built a great score and jones is the best player there. I mean it would make sense kiND of to trade jones for matthews (obviously as a leaf fan we never do this) but the jackets won't trade there best dmen when they traded there best player in johansen to get him. I know the chance is unlikely but the leafs could.make the playoffs all 4 years and the picks turn out trash. I don't see why they take the risk and trade jones. They should just hope Dubois developes into a number one center or if not, try and do one more tank and get patrick. The team will be contending sooner keeping jones and tanking for a year rather than losing jones and hoping that more prospects come and help them become good again.

Seth Jones would really complete the Toronto rebuild. As a die hard wings fan Mike Babcock would have enough weapons to make that team very competitive.

But you would trade 3 first round picks for Seth Jones, right?

I'd trade the number 1 or 2 pick in next year's draft if we had it for him. But trading 1st rounders for four years hurts our system and takes away from the Team to make contending moves at the trade deadline ( should we become competitive soor rather than later).

Value isn't there for Toronto, and I'm pretty sure Columbus fans would riot is the team started trying to push another rebuild (team has been building for 16 years now, it's time to start producing).

Actually, instead of fans rioting, the owner John McConnell would probably just shoot Jarmo. After spending at the cap and finishing 4th to last, the team has committed to building around defense, of which Jones is the primary piece. If he were to get the owner to sign off on that and then immediately trade Jones... Yeah it wouldn't be good.
