I think Matthews is now clearly the best American in franchise history. Toronto's best European player ever is obviously Salming or Sundin.

Not sure if Nylander, Ellett, Schriner would be categorized as "European", "American" or Canadian by naturalization or birth. Was too young to see Olcyzk, Frycer, Inhacak, Fergus and Iafrate so just picked one for representation. Maybe Antropov makes it ahead of Yushkevich but he was such a warrior.

Actually screw it, gave it to Freddie Andersen.

No offense to the Leafs but it's pretty depressing that some of those names made it to a top 10 in franchise history in any category.
