Tony Luftman is horrible !

They... way... he... slows... down... when... monologuing...
and his Jimmy Falloon level of clapping, laughing, and praising anything anyone else said
and whatever story they were wrapping up was "incredible" right as he cut to commercials
and his odd, posture and leaning and turning in his chair to seem more laidback

needless to say, he stood out to me, to put it nicely

I won't dunk on Tony Luftman for one thing and one thing alone: how unabashedly enthusiastic he is about Team USA when the World Juniors rolls around. As a fellow American, I'm so glad to see someone else as stoked about this (little known in the USA) tournament as I am.
It's a shame that the World Juniors isn't as watched in the US as in other countries. After all, this is where you can "see the stars before they become stars".

All I know is I literally laughed all day at Sam Cosentino's uber excitement about every player drafted out of major junior. It was like he was getting paid by the compliment. And not only was every guy drafted out of major junior a great player they also were of impeccable character and saints who walk the earth. The kind of guys you'd want in your foxhole in a war.

I kind of admire his enthusiasm, I guess, but the over-the-topness is pretty funny to watch after awhile.

There's certain host or tv personality that comes off genuine and goes well with their job. This guy feels like a fraud trying hard to be funny (but he isn't) to keep his job. I'm not trying to be a complete jerk but to me he feels miscast or totally out of place. He just doesn't have it as someone to be a hockey guy. I can see him doing basketball or baseball from his vibe, just not hockey. His enthusiasm towards hockey feels so fake.

His over-the-top cackle at any statement perceived to be even moderately humorous is so fing annoying.

He's trying to manufacture mood for something that isn't quite as funny but comes off as cringey or awkward being the loudest and obnoxious. It's when you know the joke isn't funny but you laugh along so it doesn't look like he's laughing by himself. Spare him the humiliation being the only person laughing on camera.

Annoying guy but kind of harmless imo. people just love to pick on the geeks, Pierre Mcguire same thing.
He’s vapid, phony and unctuous. Pierre McGuire is more sincere, but in the same area code. People aren’t picking on them because of their “geekiness”, but are annoyed at their cringey TV schtick.

Yeah he's annoying. Sometimes supper annoying but I'm not calling for him to get fired or anything like that. He is there like Jamie Hersch, toss up softball questions and just keep things moving...smile and nod. They have functional hockey sense, and are super corporate so just be positive and upbeat. Smile then nod.
