Wonder if Tony had any over the top issues with Jacques Martin or vice versa. Lots of people look at Quinn but Jacques is a no non sense coach

Putting this on Quinn is ridiculous DeAngelo always were a time ticking bomb.
Yeah, it's possible there's some things Quinn could have overlooked or not handled properly that we're unaware of, but again, were unaware of those things. We do however know that DeAngelo had problems in junior hockey and with two other organizations who moved on from him pretty quickly. And he got off to a rough start here, too. Feels like this was an inevitability. Maybe someone like Scotty Bowman or Herb Brooks would have nipped this in the bud, but that's not who Quinn is and it's not who he was hired to be (from a personality standpoint).

Without knowing how that locker room functioned, and what it was really like with Tony and why, I can't fault Quinn. I can however fault the FO.

Always knew Tony was on borrowed time with the Rangers, didn’t think they would act this quickly though. With the emergence of Fox and Miller, this is fine. Don’t need this in the locker room.
Well, if the Johnson-Smith pair doesn't play more than 10 minutes a night, I can get behind this logic.

always good to hear from an Arm Chair GM about how HF NYR posters should post only after this ADA waiver occurred.
How am I an armchair GM? And I never said people shouldn't post, I've just never understood people claiming that they know everything that's going on and criticizing an organization with limited information. Try again

DeAngelo wasn’t directly responsible for the OT goal. DeAngelo, Panarin and Zibanejad were all gassed and in the same position with one another. Georgiev clearly stepped in front of DeAngelo in OT and gave the puck back to Pittsburgh when DeAngelo was about to get the puck. Then right before Crosby shot the puck DeAngelo made an effort to not screen Georgiev and even prepared to block the shot. People need to be impartial when watching the game. I’ve watched that last sequence a few times now and DeAngelo was not wrong if he was upset. He is wrong though if he called out his teammate.
I didn't say he was responsible for the OT goal--I just said he didn't have a good game (and, unsaid, that he hasn't been good this season). The post I quoted shit all over Georgiev but ignored the fact that DeAngelo's play has been generally crappy.

I try to stay unbiased. I don't care for Lemieux (he's undisciplined) but he was generally great last night, even without the goal I thought. I love Lindgren, a couple games back I said he was fighting it all night. I don't like DeAngelo but I evaluate his game like anyone else on the team.

They have to do an internal reunion to deal with this. DeAngelo is in his own league, but we already did have discipline problems with Anderson, Smith and Kravtsov.
Not a good looking for the organization.

I blame Tony, i blame the front office for his status, I blame DQ for being too wishy washy. Torts woulda beat the crap out of Tony himself if he ever pulled a stunt like that.

Just an extremely disappointing situation. I love watching the guy play hockey.

Ultimately the fault and responsibility for whatever actions happened lies at DeAngelo’s feet. The failure to respond and change and dial back his statements and actions is on him.

But at this point I am beyond “having concerns” with the entire organization at this point. This is a disaster and shows complete failure up and down the leadership hierarchy.

They NYR have more insight into their players than anyone else. Asymmetric information. To be surprised and caught with your pants down to this degree is unacceptable. There were a variety of options they could have taken:

-Trade him for the best offer over the summer citing Trouba/Fox investment.

-Get him the help he needs mentally to be more proactive in preventing this after the decision was made to sign him.

-Addressed the leadership of the group be it Coach, players, whatever that allows this to go unchecked and build up this long.

I can’t know what specifically they did or didn’t do but what I do know, the outcome, is a complete and total disaster. Losing a valuable asset for nothing. Locker room problems with the league’s youngest roster. Complete indictment of team leadership.

The actions of DeAngelo are on DeAngelo alone but the entire organization needs to take a long f***ing hard look in the mirror.

We live in a world now where you’re guilty before innocent. Something happened for them to cut bait with him, that we know, but we don’t know what happened, but as usual we have our rumor mongers out there forming a story before anybody can confirm it. If he did something heinous, so be it, he’s a fool, but people are out of their minds. The same type of people that convicted Jewell after the Atlanta bombing before having the evidence because people ran with the narrative. And no, I’m not defending DeAngelo here.
LOL come on man. Richard Jewell? You're equating people making assumptions about DeAngelo, a guy who has had issues of varying degrees at every stop, to Richard Jewell? Come on.

Is Tony facing life imprisonment for murder and terrorism charges?

If you accuse others of being one how can you not. Will you be giving us you predicted snowfall totals for Monday on Tuesday too?
Like I just said, I criticize people for talking in absolutes and thinking that they know everything going on in an organization and criticizing everything even when they only have limited information and don't have the full picture. There's a difference between thinking you know everything and always thinking you're right, and having opinions regarding the limited information that we're all privy to.

Theres something wrong inside this organization, why are they routinely having problems with players and prospects? Its very telling to me that they have someone like Gord Murphy in their ranks.

Explain why
Dunno....Maybe there is some sort of cause/effect thing happening...denying that cause we haven’t been given “concrete proof”...how important is the “why” at this point? The team has put him on waivers, and you say something about being innocent until proven guilty. And comparing this to the Jewell situation? Oh boy.

yes, obtuse.
