Brannstrom was a big investment for them even if he hasn't done anything yet, they might not want another power play defenseman.

He’s a lefty though and Tony is a free asset. If he plays well or produces he’s flippable and even if the return isn’t all world, it was free. I’m not sure they pass looking at their right side.

It seems that a divorce is coming between the @NYRangers
and Tony DeAngelo as the management of the team has reached a point of no return in his case and it is not because of his talent, but for the rest. That explains the reason he's on waivers.

The fact that there is a public post from immediately after the game mentioning a fight involving DeAngelo and Georgiev... means there was probably a fight. Other verified sources confirming they’ve heard the same all but assures it.

Poor play

Penalties leading to benchings

Public political comments that Quinn say were addressed in house

and now the fight

Its highly unlikely Tony was waived because of one specific thing. This has boiled fast and it was time to get him off the team.

We should’ve traded him when that was an option. I can’t blame management for the poor asset control. It was tough to foresee events unfolding to this extreme.

Good riddance.

Yeah that's where if nothing happened, you flat deny it. Rumors are addressed all the time. I mean given the circumstances, it's a reasonable answer, but it still makes me laugh.

Honestly just waiting for Brooks to write his column, the team will leak it to him what happened or Vince will get the story from Tony.

Is it just me that thinks everyone envolved in this fight should be punished?
Potentially. Without knowing all the details (we don't actually know ANY details), it's hard to say.

There's also a very real chance that if this were two random guys (say, Howden and Lindgren), no one would be punished. This isn't punishment for DeAngelo, this is just the team saying we've had enough.

Did ADA take down his Twitter account by team request, or was it of his own accord? If it was the former, we may be getting one side of the story very soon.
He's still a Rangers employee and will be for the foreseeable future assuming he isn't claimed

A boiling point has been hit. Many incidents and this was the icing on the cake

Should tell anyone that’s still defending him all you need to know the team is literally willing to lose him for nothing just to have him go away

I'd wager if the same thing happened not involving DeAngelo, we never hear about it.

This very much feels like a last straw.

That's valid but there's one guy involved who's on thin ice literally all the time.
Fair, and we all know management wants to get rid off him, but not punishing a guy who punchs his teammate send a bad message. At least, for me.
Imagine punching your racist coworker, you definitely would get fired, or at least suspended.
It's not like we are married to Georgiev for the long term.

If I ran the place, I'd give that guy a raise, but that's me.

Let’s hope no one picks him up. And I’m praying this situation gets resolved and Tony is back in the lineup soon. If you’re happy about potentially losing him for nothing, you’re not a Rangers fan.
No. One. Is. Trading. For. Him. Plus dude has 1 point, -6 was on for basically every five on five goal in the games he played. Time to move on.
