Definitely makes us worse in the short term. Only a blip on the radar for our bright future though!

I'm not going to pretend that I'm not glad that he isn't going to be a constant topic of discussion anymore.

I didn't read every post, so maybe someone mentioned this already.

If we buy ADA out this summer, he will only cost $883,333 against the cap in 2021-22 (Players under 26 only cost 1/3rd on the buyout).

I don't know if it will come to that, but I have to imagine that if no one claims him and we can't find a trade for him, they will buy him out at the first opportunity.

Let’s hope no one picks him up. And I’m praying this situation gets resolved and Tony is back in the lineup soon. If you’re happy about potentially losing him for nothing, you’re not a Rangers fan.
This seems like it might kill whatever relationship he had with the team. I have a hard time seeing him back in the lineup for us ever again.

And taking charge may have well been of what happened. Again, why not wait for the truth to emerge?

Because part of discussion is speculation? No ones saying don’t wait but wether it’s true or not there’s something out there to talk about.

It makes us worse in the long term because he was an asset we could've (should have last summer) flipped to get us the 2C we need.

It is what it is. It just sucks we made the wrong decision.

I wonder if Gorton made a few calls about Bennett or some other guys first. I'm not a big Bennett guy, but it would be better than losing ADA for nothing.

Im sorry but so does 80% of the Garden and ticket base. This idea that he’s a problem because he’s a shock to the local system is laughable. None of it is ok btw. Not defending it.

But you keep claiming the Rangers can’t keep him bc he clashes with the city and fan base. Do you....know any Rangers fans???
That’s funny. Every Ranger fan I know including some fellow tickets holders couldn’t be happier with today’s news. Writing has been on the wall for a while. Time to turn the page and get back at it tomorrow against Pitt.

Yep. Like there’s no doubt DeAngelo is a POS. And he doesn’t look the same right now.

But this team has made far more bad/questionable asset management decisions than good ones lately. It’s troubling, and I hope if it continues people can put their love for John Davidson aside and look at the situation rationally.

You its very troubling when people think they can categorize people as a POS. I wish we could go back to the days that if you wanted to call some something like that you had the guts to do it to their face. I guess everyone has developed internet muscles and think they are so, so tough! How many on this board have had a personal interaction with Tony D? If he beat his girlfriend (hello NFL), got arrested for doing drugs (ie Kevin Stevens), slept with his teammates wife (Eric Lindros), or stuff like that you might be ok calling him a POS. But for political statements??? Wow, just wow!

I don't think we made the wrong decision. I think the offers just weren't there.

It's not always about asset management. We don't need to win every transaction. Sometimes it's better for the team to just cut bait and move on.

I love rangers they're never boring and fans like us are so passionate with this team even though the blueshirts are bad for our blood pressure. Stay tuned!!! Gotta luv these rangers. Always something going on. Stinks though we getting nothing back.

i don't disagree with much of this,
but the 'lose him for nothing' line is way over-used at HFB -
in flat Cap world, subtracting >$4M Cap Hit also represents some opportunity

Nah it would be Trouba.
Probably...we all know Kreider is certainly no finisher.

Tony likely had it coming with his uncontrollable mouth.....what a terrible waste of talent....I hope he can get some professional help in his life....he likely can afford it now . I have been a big supporter of his despite his poor D and Twitter stuff but he has been off kilter since the start of the season and it was noticeable most games . We will survive without him and likely our focus will improve .

It’s all speculation, but the rush to judgement and assignment of blame is asinine.

Nah he’s done he won’t play another game here

He’s not worth the headache and we know the way JD is, they aren’t going to tolerate it

Georgiev at +55o is good value.

The more you put things together the more it seems like he was involved. Not practicing today, he and Tony had that mix up behind the net right b4 the OTG. where thers's smoke...
