Not enough vets that command a locker room presence. Someone (a player) needs to take hold of the room. This is what happens when guys don’t have a team mate to keep them in check.
And taking charge may have well been of what happened. Again, why not wait for the truth to emerge?

I’m actually of the mindset he dosen’t get claimed

He’s a grade A asshole who’s been run out of 3 organizations now with multiple conduct issues and got into a fight with his teammate last night

I wouldn’t touch him with a ten foot pole

Does any team even have the cap to just do an outright claim, like yes Detroit, LA, the Devils or Ottawa could, but it’s not like any of them are contending.

We traded Stepan after giving hima HORRIFIC contract.

Got back Lias and ADA.

I am beyond unenthusiastic about this guys ability to build a team, hire personnel and evaluate talent. Whether it's in FA, long term cap management, player development, personnel hirings, use of picks or player re-signings it doesn't matter.

Across the board he has monumental failures occurring at a rate that should be alarming to every NYR fan

Such a mixed bag with Gorton but most GM's resumes are filled with good and bad. In the end, he will be saved by Panarin, Laf, Fox and Shesty.

I will say this though, this organization has had un unusual amount of issues with young players. JT Miller, Lias, ADA, and Kravtsov (not sure Skjei fits in here) but that's a lot of high first round talent gone south (and, yes, I realize the book isn't closed on Kravtsov).

Yes keep defending this guy, who has had numerous offense in life. Keep defending this guy man. Clearly everyone is out to get him.

I’m not defending anything here? If he punched a teammate the team is entirely within its right to decide this.

Still think it’s shitty asset management.

J.D. and Gordon had better get their heads out of their @sses. They got two lottery gifts and appear to be doing more watching and waiting then leading.

Funny how most of the rumors are of someone punching Tony first but now lots of it is the other way around where Tony punched someone first

pro teams gamble on talent all the time. acquiring him wasn't the big fail

to me, not trading him in off-season, after his breakout season, plus Fox's emergence (Lundkvist's emergence, Schneider draft,) was maybe the greater missed opportunity
