Dont forget his worth. When the Rangers were at their best last year, ADA was in the center of it.

He's a dynamic game changer.. there's no denying that aspect. he does have his warts... hopefully with time they can be resolved from his game. The issue is the whole team is heavily weighted on 'offense'.

TBH I think playing for a coach like Torts would be the best thing for ADA.

oh yeah. Old man Torts may not be entirely into it, but inner, still there, ol' fiery torts should be licking his chops. Tony studs out in Columbus I think. It's so funny too, because if I were Columbus fans, I'd want a guy that would really thrive under Torts.

I think TDA is the kind of player that would absolutely lose his mind being hammered by Torts everyday. I love TDA and hope he does well here, and I think hes come a long way, but I have the feeling if he were under torts, he'd become one of those players that request a trade to get away from Torts. Just my gut feeling.

I think he and Torts would be best friends. Torts would even show him how to throw waterbottles at people when Really pissed.
When he is playing well, yes. However, when Torts comes down on him, it will wear on DeAngelo real quick.

I will say that while we all love Fox, PP1 looks better with DeAngelo. Fox will never be the offensive catalyst that DeAngelo is.

Seems like he is back in tonight. Maybe I am crazy, but if the year is rocky with him, wondering if they would leave him exposed for the Seattle draft?

You don't expose players with value in an expansion draft if you don't have to.

They can protect 3: Trouba (NMC), Lindgren and DeAngelo
These are exempt: Fox, Miller, Reunanen
These are UFA: Smith, Johnson
Exposed: Hajek, Bitetto

DeAngelo is just the next in a long line of players the Rangers gave an expensive contract to and immediately falls off. Strome is right next to him, with Kreider and Trouba on the way not too far off in the distance. Brady Skjei says hey hey what do you say all the way from Raleigh.

This a very concerning trend..

I live in the city but I’m a Panthers fan: I’m not sure if this is allowed in the thread, but how big of a problem is his politics right now? (I don’t want to comment on the validity of his views, but more the interaction with the city) It seems like there is a good bit of hostility against him for his political statements and I’m curious if this might impair his play/be a distraction.

(I personally prefer my entertainers/athletes focus on the game/not politics but the norm seems to have shifted)

Do I think it is him? No. Do I think he would do something like that to defend himself on social media? Abso-effin-lutely. I think he IS that immature and insecure. I definitely think he is the type that is checking twitter and other social media sites as soon as he can following a game to see what people are saying.

So it's not him but you're still holding it against him because it could have been him?

His views aren't the problem. The problem is he's incredibly thin skinned, has short fuse, and likes to run his mouth on social media and it's becoming a distraction.

It’s great how the mods let this go. Guilty until proven 100000 percent innocent. Keep feeding the flames. Would be nice to just talk hockey but that’s never gonna happen with the agenda here

Gotchya: say if his politics were different, you think it would the same issue (I’m not trying to accuse but instead try to understand)

As usual I agree with everything above.

His turning everything into a social media victim complex doesn’t help the tough guy persona either

I'm not on twitter, nor terribly familiar with it, so maybe you can help me out... How do we know for a fact that it is/isn't him? Obviously in the court of law the burden of proof is on the accuser, but it's hard to argue that his prior conduct sort of makes the post that i've seen look more believable than if it was, say, Ryan Strome, Adam Fox, or Brendan Lemieux
I can’t see whoever’s post it is that you’re presumably replying to but,

We’ll probably never know who it is. But as you mentioned, taking into account his previous behavior on Twitter, plus the defense of Tony by this account, the reaction to being called out, and the persons IP being traced back to downtown Pittsburgh, it’s believable.

Could it be some rando Rangers fan who lives in Pittsburgh and loves Tony? Yeah

Could it also be Tony himself? Yeah

We’ll probably never know but it’s just an absurd situation regardless

I could care less about twitter but is it just as possible some troll out there just trying to start up more shit? Maybe even someone who has the complete opposite views ADA has? Anyway you’re gonna believe what you wanna believe pointless to try to change anyone’s mind.

Because there is no proof it is him. Some dude saying he "traced the IP to Pittsburgh" is not proof.
