Tkachuk hit on Guentzel (no supplemental discipline)

The NHL will be a non contact league soon because 10 years ago this would not even be a 2 min penalty.
Lucky for Guentzel that it was not a Raffi Torres type doing the hitting else he would have been deleted. He was admiring the pass instead of paying attention.

It was barely late, and he had no head contact. Why should he be suspended for what amounts as a 2-minute penalty.

I don't care what Tampa does, don't start nothin' and there will be nothin'.
Barely late lol.... Watch it again. Its clear as day. At least clear to non panther fans.

That was a penalty 30 years ago. Not sure what league you've been watching.

It was intent to injure. Late as can be funny how people were like can't possibly defend the hagel one but do so for this one when it was just as dirty. Just stop. Either way we all know bettman's baby fl panthers will get a slap on the wrist like always. So this conversation is pointless.

They set a precedent with Hagel in this series, so this is also suspension worthy IMO.
Beside the fact that this is clearly late, MTK starts aiming for Guentzel once he sees the puck is out of reach and the Bolts will score. Totally unnecessary and you can assume with intent to injury as MTK decides to go for Guentzel only after he got rid of the puck.
With Hagel you could argue he thought Barkov would have controlled the puck, here there is no other explanation than hitting a player without a puck that is not expecting a hit.

Gotta suspend this clown if you want players to take you seriously. Tkachuks only intent is to get his pound of flesh with the game being iced, knowing full well a penalty wouldn’t decide the outcome
Thats really what it boils down to, it wasn't a "close play" it was the end of the game and you're trying to smoke a guy from his blind spot - there is only one intention there.

Neutral fan here...if anything I like Tampa more.

That hit looks clean. It's within a couple seconds of him touching the puck so not interference. In the playoffs, players are given a couple second to finish their checks all the time.

Tkachuk makes sure to line up the hit body on body so it's not a a head shot.

Tkachuk makes sure to hit him from his front so it's not a blindside (even if hagels head is cocked to the side)

Clean hit.

Game 1 Toronto -Ottawa, Stutzle took a delayed hit and no penalty was assessed.

It seems like similar delay to me, so I think that was a bad call

Tkachuk has been sent home with a lollipop and a sticker because he told Bittman and the deposit he will be a good boy and not do it again. Cased closed. Bring the pain to panthers and target their stars next game.

Lol you already did that

I think we both know you don’t know what he was thinking. Cope in whatever way makes you feel better though. Understandably you guys are sensitive after todays game.
Yeah up 2-1 in a series that was never gonna be a sweep makes me feel so terrible
