I probably respect Ferraro's opinion more than any hockey analyst out there and he has Liljegren over Holl

Most hockey people take Lily over Holl because he has far superior hockey skills .. I would even take Sandin over Holl for 7th spot (Holl is a little faster than Sandin) .. either way I don't want either Holl or Sandin playing for us in playoffs unless an injury occurs

I was really hard on liljegren at time this season but since he played with Giordano, thats really help him to calm down his game and being better. If he continu that way, hes probably gonna win his spot to start playoff.

Bet on Dallas and take the over, Keefe is a f***ing idiot
I mean, that's a little dramatic.

He's going to have to keep getting reps for all 7 guys that could play in the playoffs and it will hopefully help rest guys so they're as close to 100% as possible for the playoffs. Just hopefully it doesn't mean Liljegren sits every other game or more than that or else I'll agree.

Boooooo Keefe! Boooooo! Tomato tomato! Boooooo!

This is how da dick Keefer is gonna do it come playoffs too .. i thought he would do it to Lily last game .. completely da wrong way to motivate people .. players are smart .. watch Gio struggle tonight too .. and people will come on here and say well Gio has lost a step .. no morons it will be because of Holl pure and simple .. Holl does not have NHL speed or skills /brain

Hopefully this is the case. However what if this looks good? Liljegren would have lost a spot because Keefe wanted to look at something and it worked?

There is a good chance it could also be this. Montreal's game will be telling

At least Carlo and Bourne are jumping for joy right now

Tbh I can't stand Richard.

There's 0 chance Holl is out of the lineup come playoff time. He's guaranteed to get top-4 minutes just like it's guaranteed Brodie and Rielly will too and honestly? He's deserved it.

It's pretty clear Bush *should* be the odd man out, but we'll see who of him or Lil will be sitting come game 1.

i'd also throw Muzzin into the mix as a guy who maybe should be the odd man out. Rielly/Brodie/Liljegren/Giordano are pretty undeniably the 4 best defensemen this season, and Sandin/Holl have been the best of the rest. Muzzin and Lyubushkin are big and physical, but have the most glaring limitations

Yeah I didn't include him in the "top-3" for a reason. I didn't think he was nearly as bad as people are saying he was last game, but 🤷‍♂️. Can't see him being out of the lineup, but we'll see.

Tbh i think you're underrating Holl. The guy has faced the toughest match-ups all season and has more than kept his head above water all season besides playing with Muzzin early. If it were up to me the pairings would look exactly like they did against Florida game 1, unless Sandin is ready and I'd swap him and Muzzin.

Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Giordano-Liljegren

Rielly-Brodie getting primarily ozone starts because Rielly is a mess, and run the other two pairings around equally. If Muzz even plays like 80% of the guy he was last season we're set.

If Lily sits on Saturday, instead of Holl, then I'll agree Keefe has a thing for Holl that is simply unexpalinable. Maybe Holl away from Muzzin is Holl's last chance to show he should play. Or, who are we kidding, Keefe rides Holl like he's a stud defenceman.

I think boosh will be more valuable than holl in the playoffs ala polak..

It baffles me the lack of respect Holl has gotten since Muzzin got injured. He's been arguably the best defenseman on the team since then and plays the hardest minutes of any player on the team.

And who is going to protect and clear the front of the net? Last game most of the goals came from within 15 feet of the goal. When is Keefe going to realize that Muzzin-Holl might never achieve what they were last year (not only because of Holl, but because Muzzin has been below average this season).

They let in one goal 5v5 and Bush wouldn't have been playing PK. The whole "clearing the net" narrative is so overblown.

I'm not some Holl Stan, but the fact people are saying he needs to be out of the lineup for Bush is as bad as Liljegren being out for him, and it absolutely won't happen because Keefe rightfully trusts him against the other teams best players.

how many goals did Florida score that were across the crease passes? clearing the net includes shutting down those chances. Holl cant do it, too soft/ and weak to even control a stick and his positioning in front of the net always sucks.

Muzzin will be given a good run here to get him on game shape. Expect him to start the playoffs. I hope he comes back to form. I don’t mind resting D these last dozen games, just don’t put Holl or Bush in during the playoffs over Liljegren if they don’t deserve it.

So you're gonna blame Holl for powerplay goals against? Hockey's obsession with grit and physicality to rank worse players that have it over much better players who play a "soft" game (I don't consider Holl soft) is compulsive.

Bush is a decent #6. Holl is a solid #3 or a high end #4. The fact anyone is begging Keefe to take Holl out for Bush is a mess.

You are correct, and I guess I overrracted to Holl staying. He deserves to stay, but Liljegren coming out is unforgivable but again we'll see on Saturday.

Holl is a solid #3? I respectfully disagree as do many respected hockey people. Just today on Leafs Lunch Craig Button said Holl shouldn't be in our top 6 starting the playoffs. So top 3 or high end 4 only on a Keefe coached team, not a Stanley Cup contending team.

The fact you're quoting button means you've already lost the argument

No offense but if Craig Button says something, Leafs should do the opposite
