His talent offensively is already at an NHL level. He can do things with the puck that other players can only dream of. However, there are holes in his game that we all knew about. He didn't step onto the ice like a prime Scott Stevens yesterday, and that's fine. He'll have every opportunity to improve his judgement and defensive ability and his talent will take him pretty far
Can you show an example of him doing something with the puck that others can only dream of?

Mark Fraser can only dream about dreaming of doing things Lil Tim does.
To be honest the majority of defensemen who are not top pairing do not have the skills he has. And even then there are a few who still cannot skate with the puck the way he does.
His elite offensive skills is something that many dont have along with elite skating. That was easy. Sorry if you just felt like downgrading a Leafs player, by asking a question on something where you didnt like the fact that he posted.
Well Mavis I'm not sure I was offended in the least but here you go.I actually like him a lot. I'm just asking for an example -- I haven't seen one. I've seen really good skating. But skills with the puck I haven't really seen. Is there an example available rather than just being vehemently offended?

Note is lateral movement with the puck
His transition from forwards to backwards skating with the puck
Note his passing
Note his stickhandling
Note his shot

Liljegren has both the ability and inclination to be a two-way D-man.
As for things he can do with the puck that most can't, it's just to look at his breakout game. His ability to elude pressure and make plays that create clean exits is already at a higher level than most NHL D-men. Case in point, that backhand sauce to an open area where one of our forwards could get the puck in the last game.
He does fumble the puck some, that part of his game can be cleaned up quite a bit.

How do you catch the games? I'm in the UK and can't stay up past 10pm let alone 12am
I hope you're right about eluding pressure -- I feel like I've seen him force the puck into pressure quite a bit on the zone entries.
Add Lilly to the big 3 who all have some things that you cant teach. No questions needed or asked.
Looks like he needs some schooling, should not rush this kids, he's a keeper
This is somewhat obvious but Lilj. is one of those players that will elevate his game with skilled players around him providing sure outlets and sure covers for his skating and offensive play-making.
Nith nailed it in his impressions of the tourney - Lilj pushes the play in instances when a more structured approach is better. I found he forced the up-ice play and the shot on goal when other partner options were more better options. No big deal - these are coaching opportunities as Keefe mentioned.
What is clear is that this 18yr old has all the skating and shooting we could want in a prospect.

I think you should classify it as hyperbole.
Obviously, there are defensemen who can do what he does, and better, playing in the NHL and likely elsewhere.
But we should still be excited if the Leafs have a potential star on the blueline ... which is an extreme longshot at this point.
