Would be interesting, but I don't think that similar projects did much for AHL hockey in Rochester, Springfield or anywhere else. Cool pics of the site and construction in the 80s.

I doubt they are doing this for AHL hockey. Clearly Albany is eyeing more NCAA regional events, basketball and high school sports are big in the region during fall & winter. Relatives live up that way and they said most people in the Albany area view AHL hockey on a level below NCAA DI sports. They said they may go to a Devils game once or twice a year but there is no energy or excitement. They said the Devils dont even advertise their games, you have to go online to look at the schedule. The local newspaper puts the games in that day, otherwise you have to go on the team website for schedule. My relatives have said though if the NY Rangers AHL team ever came to Albany they would be inline for their season seats. They may want to think about that, Smallbany Devils look like a good team this year lol.
