Dubas is the first GM that I can remember that can’t sell out leafs games…..it’s almost like he’s intentionally sabotaging the team.
I've had tickets since '99. This isn't even close to the how bad it was during the lottery years. I had to eat the odd pair back then, there is no problem getting rid of them now. COVID is more to blame if anything.

$150 for this pair now!
Glad I sold mine all together as a package and made some $$$ on my license .. my buddy just sold his Saturday night at a loss --- $125 for 2 tickets in row 2 behind net .. OMG I did not realize things had fallen off a cliff this year on demand .. but with COVID and a bad team it needed to occur to send a message to ownership

There are other factors at play... since this is not just an Toronto centric problem this season.

That being said, I think the playoff failure last year really hit the true fans in a bad way. Rightfully so. This was the first true rebuild we've gone through and as others have mentioned, this core probably will not win one playoff round. That in itself is astounding considering the talent.

I sold mine in row 17 for $200 in about 15 minutes. I haven't had a pair yet that I couldn't move and people are delighted to get them for $200. Your buddy doesn't try hard enough.

I think there’s apathy because the outlook wasn’t great going in to the season. I get it that a lot of people don’t have the disposable income right now, but if the team was playing better they’d find the money and the place would be full.

There has been empty seats for as long as I've been going.
Not sure how often you attend but I don't sense apathy in the building.

It’s hard to sellout games during football season.

I’ve ever seen as many empty seats on TV as I have this year. I think people are still pissed about last season.
I doubt it's one thing but a combination of many things.
Some are unhappy, some are wary of large crowds, some can no longer afford, some got use to staying, etc.
Personally, I don't see people that upset with the team.

If the Jays had made the playoffs they would have sold every available ticket and if they were playing a home WS game tonight the building would be packed, as would every bar in the city.

Not sure why that seems relevant. Shirley you see the difference between an early regular season game and the World Series?

I think there's a few things impacting the empty seats/available tickets. I'm sure there are a few people who aren't going because they're mad about the leafs performance this year and the prior playoffs.... I can't argue that because I said to my wife that i'm not sure i'll be going to any playoff games in the first round this year.

But i don't think that's the biggest reason for empty seats, my guess it is people that aren't vaccinated (one cousin that took 4 of my games last year isn't allowed to go now, also know of several people in my wife's side of the family that aren't either). There were 2 other people I was going to give tickets to as a gift, and they can't go because of vaccinations too.

Plus anybody hesitant to go to a big event like this now (my wife has been hesitant, but may finally be going this Saturday ... i couldn't get a friend to go 2 weeks ago because of their spouse too).

Between unvaccincated people, people hesitant over crowds and people hurt financially by the pandemic ... i bet 25-30% of the people that may have gone to a game aren't at this point of the year.

I can tell you I had no problem getting rid any games after Christmas...I only have 2 games left after mid December

Went on Saturday.

No apathy in the building. Plenty of empty seats though.

It's quite surreal to be honest - didn't think I'd ever see that sort of thing in this market.
