In no way is Boston an easy beat, but choosing between the team with b2b Stanley cups and a post-Rask Bruins is an easy choice. Don't want to play against Vasi first round.

I've said for years that the Bruins and Leafs have been like Chicago and Vancouver in the past. A big rivalvry and Chicago had their number in the playoffs until their 3rd matchup when Vancouver eeked out the win and then went on to the finals (where they likely wouldve won if not for a lot of injuries to the defense).

All true and I also feel pretty confident we show up when it matters. Still, with our game 7 history I'd be lying if there wasn't a bit of concern somewhere in the back of my mind. I was confident last season too, and the season before that, and the season before that etc. Especially last season, we were so consistent all season long, the way we faded at the end was a shock to my system.

We need a series win bad, at least I do!
The concern is always there, I just assume that’s a given lol.

I promised myself I wasn't going to fall for it this time around but something definitely feels different this year. More of an all in business approach, Matthews at the forefront.

Not saying they win the cup, but I think the finally slay some demons this year.

Leafs recent success against top teams for the Atlantic and potential playoff opponents has renewed optimism that things are looking better with more potential for a longer playoff run.

However I'm in the boat that this team now has to prove it first in the playoff, before I give them the benefit of the doubt after the debacles against CBJ and MON.

I know teams are doing to attempt to game plan to shutdown Matthews and Marner in any way possible and make the rest of the Leafs team beat them. However this team is going to go as far and Auston and Mitch carry them.

Matthews can score 10 goals a game, but if Campbell lets in 11… then the Leafs lose as usual. Goaltending is a serious problem and will be the Achilles heel in the playoffs.

Was way more confident when everyone had Toronto as a clear under dog and guaranteed first round exit.

Looks like I'm going to have to bet 100 bucks on our first opponent to throw the universe out of whack again...

Haha superstition aside, this team, defense and offense, looks to be the best team since Washington series. It's all up to the boys and how they gonna play this year. Ride or die, no breaks, full compete, don't stop until there is no one left.

I do have a feeling that Matthews and Marner will not be quiet in the playoffs like they have been recently. Some of the other players on this team have definitely developed their game tremendously.

Keefe needs to keep Holl away from Muzzin at all costs. If he puts those two together at any point in the first round, then that shows he does not care about winning and wants to lose. There would be no other explanation.

In fact, once Sandin is back from injury, Justin Holl Should never see the light of day on this roster ever again. If there’s no injuries, he should be a healthy scratch throughout the entirety of the playoffs. I don’t care if he was good without Muzzin, still don’t like him and still think he is a huge liability to this team. I’m not even a fan of Jake Muzzin”s game, But unless he’s injured, you know he will not be scratched, so have to deal with it. Put him with someone that can shelter him a little bit.

I’ve been optimistic about the playoffs every single season for the last nearly 20 years, I have no expectations this season. Why? Because I’ve seen our goaltending since December 15, our team save percentage has been near dead last in the NHL for about 70% of the season and over the last four months.

Kallgren is not NHL ready, Not only do his stats back that up, but some of the god-awful goals he’s giving up has proven that to me that he’s nowhere near ready.

If Jack Campbell goes down for an injury or has a bad game, there is no one else to turn to, Michael Hutchinson is not going to be a better option than anything else that we have right now. It’s Jack Campbell or bust, that’s not good enough for me.

i’m enjoying the record-breaking that Auston Matthews is doing and watching him and Mitch Marner and Michael bunting together is definitely a treat, it doesn’t change my feelings and outlook on the playoffs. Seeing is believing and I just don’t think the goaltending is good enough to get the job done. The only way the Leafs get past the first round is if they out score their subpar goaltending, that’s my take on it, I may be proven wrong, but I highly doubt it. I’m sure others will say I’m whining and I have no Idea what I’m talking about and that’s OK, that’s why it’s called an opinion, I’m allowed to have one. Keep in mind though, my opinions are based on actual facts on what’s happened during the regular season, my doom and gloom has nothing to do with playoff past records, but what’s happening this season only.

I hope Jack Campbell can make me eat crow, But I seriously have my doubts. I’m a Debbie downer, but at least my opinions are based on what’s actually happened this season and I’m not just talking out of my ass.

Boston in round 1 please.

This team needs to have the ability to bury their demons, and if they can’t management needs to see that and make the necessary personnel adjustments.

Let Carolina and Tampa battle it out and pray the Leafs can end the Bruins in 5-6 and avoid a game 7 no show as we are becoming accustomed to.

Leafs had great goaltending against Montreal. They still didn’t win

There were similar comments last spring like the time is now, leafs are mature and physical enough, and remember how disappointed we were at the end. It is our fandom nature, but I would not hope too much until they show they can get it done.

Another season of experience for the core. Consider me cautiously optimistic.
Forget caution! All in!

I'm a compete sucker, I guess. Because I'm now getting my hopes up again. I believe. This is the year!

They had great goaltending the first 4 games. They won 3 of them.

They had subpar goaltending the last 3 games. They lost all 3.

A day in the life of a Leaf fan! This is just how we roll and how it goes! :)

I don’t believe they had good goaltending whatsoever. Price is and was better.

What are you basing your opinion on that the leafs didn’t have good goaltending last year in the playoffs?

Campbell gave us a .934 and 1.81. If you can’t win with goaltending like that, what can I tell you?

The Leafs lost games 5 and 6 in overtime, choking away leads with terrible play and didn’t show up for game 7.

If you’re thinking this teams issues last year were goaltending, you’re living on another planet

The past means nothing… the Leafs are playing in the moment. M&M are rolling right now and I truly believe we have a team that can win four 7 game series against whoever lines up against us.

With M&M and a solid team game… yes, we can win it all.

The Bruins is the perfect first round match up. The recent history with them. They are older trying to hang on. Our team is younger, mature enough now to know how to handle things. The Bruins are the only team I feel confident about playing in round one. WE will kick their asses.
