This new breed of Senators is different.

Do you guys think that Pageau could be a Patrice Bergeron type player good at both ends of the ice?

When he puts on more muscle and gets a bit stronger, I think he'll be another Brière or even a St-Louis or Giroux. If he can contribute at such a high level in his first NHL playoffs at a young age, sky's the limit.

Wow if he ever gets near Giroux level that would be awesome for us, even if he turns out like a Callahan type player that would be fantastic. :handclap:

The thing I like most about Pageau is that there has not been a drop off in play so far in the 10 or so games he has been up with the big club. Rookies will usually have a couple of great games and then disappear for a while.

Not to throw too much cold water on the Pageau love, but we are also dealing with a pretty small sample of games. Lets see how he does next season with a full 82 games of banging against NHL sized players. I'm guessing he will be just fine, but we may see the types of mini-slumps we had with Silf, ZBad, etc.

Think Eriksson/Ryan

Alfie is gonna stay next year, when is Michalek gonna be replaced?

Don't forget Derek Grant and DaCosta seems an almost impossible long-shot unless he converts to wing.

Maybe big trade coming up for the big named forward we need.

ok, you're talking next yr.
I'm thinking 2 years. No doubt alfie should be back next yr, but after that it's at least a ?
And because of michalek's health(and ending contract), i'm guessing he'll be a ? too.
I can't really find anyone else that would be coming out or anyone you'd want to come out. I'd say maybe smith if you could replace him with a similar type player but i don't see that happening. oh and depending on how conacher develops he could have limited time here.
The future is very bright

I agree. We're the type of team that doesn't give up. Though Pittsburgh's going to be tough to beat I think we can do it especially now that Spezza's back.

Don't forget michalek is coming off a great year. He could bounce back, but yeah, I`m not against dangling him as trade bait at the draft.
