Some team might bite on that. High draft picks have been thrown around like candy the last few deadlines
different style defensemen of course but Brandon Dillon got 2 2's at 3.9m. This to me would be the right value.

Dream case is flyers 3 and walker for 1.

Only take one d injury for a gm to get desperate.

My buddy is a Rangers fan talking about how there is chatter about dealing Kakko or Lafrienierre. I'd be more interested in Kakko if available but would we make a deal with them? He was potentially interested in Atkinson but he's an idiot.
They both have decent underlying metrics, Lafreniere has better offensive metrics, Kakko better defensive metrics. I doubt the Rangers would move Lafrienierre right now. He seems to have taken a step forward this year, pacing for around 50 points, and they are playing him top line minutes.

I would have interest in Kakko, but probably not for what the ask would be. He''s good buy-low option, but I wouldn't overpay.

Same, but also moving Staal for me

I think Grans is a bit of a project to be honest, might need another year.

Andrae is the one we need to make room for.
named Grans cause same size same style player. Hes probably not as good as Seeler today, but give him a seasons play and he probably puts up just as good metrics. He could be a better version of seeler next year had he been playing this season. We know the Flyers org loves their roles so no way they take Seeler out for small boy Emil

I really just want them to subtract 3 of these 4 this month:

Walker (must)
Seeler
Staal (must)
Risto

Orlov and Hathaway cost a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th
ROR and Acciari got a 1st, 2nd & 3rd
Horvat got a 1st and Beauvillier
year before
Giordano & Blackwell got (2) 2nds and a 3rd
G got a 1st, 3rd and Tippett
Lindholm got a 1st, (2) 2nds
Chiarot got a 1st and 4th
Toffoli got a 1st and 4th
Jarnkrok got a 2nd & 3rd
Manson got a 2nd & Helleson

Premier players garner a 1st, I think Walker is more like Manson or Jarnkrok in value.
I'd happily take a 2nd and a 3rd, you could potentially flip that for a late first

We don't need wings, we need centers.

Where would Kakko play? He's not going to play ahead of TK, Tippett, Foerster, would you even want him over Brink next season? At this point, he probably doesn't have that much upside, he'll be 23 next year, one good season at 21 and regressed this season.

Of course, if the price is right, no problem gambling that he can bounce back and at worst be a solid 3RW and maybe more, but I'm not giving up a top pick to find out.

Yes, I agree in principle - The Flyers need centers, as well as and defense. And, as you said at the end, the price needs to be right. I don't know what the ask is or how much it would take to get him. My point was really those are the types of players I would be interested in acquiring, at the right price.

He'd be a good fit given that we're deeper in skilled smaller wings (Brink, Barkey, Rizzo, Gendron, Michkov, Ciernak) than big PF types. Having an off season this year, but his three previous seasons, 1.28, 1.58, 1.73 pp/60 - unless he makes a big jump he's a 3RW already making $2.1M and a RFA next season.

He's a good defensive player, but basically we're talking a bigger version of Cates with less flexibility. For one thing, he doesn't PK, which is a skill I'd like in a bottom six forward.

Don't worry, Sam's got you covered

Ginning is the probable candidate to replace Seeler, big physical defenseman who's improved his skating and passing, still needs work but Shaw is the right guy to smooth out his edges.

Yeah I'm with you on that not giving up the top pick to get him, but if he can be had for cheap and he develops you can move another piece to make room or just let the hot hand have more minutes. Maybe Kakko's line is getting more minutes than Brink this week but next week Brink's line is getting more minutes. If you can amass talent for cheap, especially in a rebuild, you do it and figure the rest out later. If they have soured on him or are desperate for a something we have it may be doable.

We are about to have some discussions on this one.

Makes sense. It would be pretty weird if Briere publicly said they were desperately trying to move him. I suspect they get a good return on him anong others if they actually sell, which I'm not expecting to happen.

I get why people are reacting the way they are, but the return is going to be compared to the summer offer from the Blues if it gets done. There’s no avoiding it.

(I’m not having the conspiracy theory conversation again. Enough.)

Regardless of the returns, at this point we need to move some forwards just to clear the log jam. We don't have a single forward hitting UFA next year.

Have you noticed when every name comes up "Danny is reluctant to trade him . . . "
I think this reflects three things:
1) they do like the chemistry on this team
2) they like their players
3) he's not as dumb as our last few GMs, don't bid against yourself, don't seem eager to make a deal.

At the same time Torts is saying he know they're going to have to part with players he really likes . . .

Getting hard to deal with a FO and HC who aren't constantly engaging in cognitive dissonance.
