I mean it's extremely unlikely that anyone is going to trade any proven young players with high end potential or true blue chip prospects for Carter Hart. That just doesn't happen, especially with a young goalie on an expiring (albeit RFA) contract. They should be able to get good value, but think about being on the other end. If we think we are close to a Cup which I would assume anyone trading for Hart is, are the Flyers going to give up Michkov + a first for him, or even straight up? Of course not. Their version of that would probably be Brandt Clarke? No chance they are trading a potential #1 defenseman for Carter Hart. Not a knock on Hart, but it just doesn't happen. Hart is a good goalie, but he isn't Patrick Roy, Henrik Lundqvist, etc. He's definitely a #1 goalie and will be for a long time, but he isn't going to nab a true blue chip prospect or proven young NHL player with high end potential.Moving Hart is fine but the time of secondary pieces, or winning trades on volume needs to end.
This organization is obsessed with volume.
Hart is a proven #1 goaltender in the league at this point. Package him with other assets if need be but the Flyers need to come away with real talent moving on from any premier trade piece of their own.
No more second line/pairing BS.
If Briere can get that kind of return, great, but expectations shouldn't be that high. I think a 1st, A/B prospect, and a young NHLer is about as good as we can expect.
