Lost in all the bedlam, here are the two scumbags who reffed game 2:

Brad Meier #34, (Jason Blake's bastard son) :

Trevor Hanson #14

Hopefully we won't get to see these two idiots reffing our games again, but let's keen an eye out.

Someone needs to wipe that smirk right off Hebert's face! He looks like a Habs fan that takes great delight in screwing with our Leafs and Leaf fans in general.

That smirk makes me think he just got that load of cash in an envelope from Jacobs. f***ing ass puke!

I don't think it was these two Refs, but still.

So? If refs do a bad job, it's up to league to deal with it. This post has a slight "we, as fans, should do something about it" vibe and that bothers me.

It wouldn't be the first time that Leaf fans had made death threats to a referee over a call or missed call.

Wow. You're inferring something dark here, which is quite common with you in general.

The idea is to put the two guys who pulled off the screwjob on us in the spotlight, as they deserve it.

Otherwise, we're condemning all refs, and that would be inaccurate.

Hopefully we don't see these two reffing our series again. If we do, we have the right to be suspicious about Jacobs' influence with the league, imo.

Maybe I'm just paranoid but I feel like I'm noticing more and more posts on these boards that feel like the kind of stuff you get out of gamer-gate types. So, it felt to me like a call to arms for fans to do something about it, like doxing them.

What were you hoping would be the result of putting these two in the spotlight? If it wasn't a call to action, then I'm genuinely puzzled.

I've answered that question in the post you've quoted...

To condemn those 2 specifically, as opposed to all refs. Is that what you mean? If so, then I'm still puzzled, what does a fan condemning 2 refs mean? What are you hoping to accomplish by condemning them?

As fans, the only options we have would be to boycott any future games involving Brad Meier or Trevor Hanson. A few thousand fewer ticket sales every time they reffed game would get the league's attention. Otherwise, I don't think there is much to be done. A couple hundred letters written to the league's PR department would help.

Not ecstatic to see that tonight's ref, Chris Rooney, is from Boston, MA, the Bruins are 5-1 games in games that he refs, and that home teams win 49% of the time he is the referee (as opposed to 63% at home when Hanson refs when the Bruins we're at home)

We'll have to end this back and forth, because back and forths are a pain to read. I believe I was quite clear in my comment. To summarize: We're in the habit of condemning the ubiquitous "refs" when we get screwed, when 95% of the refs bare no responsibility.

Instead, let's spotlight the two refs who clearly had an agenda last night, and let's keep an eye on the league assigning them to our games in the near future. If we see either of these two culprits assigned to our games again, I think we have to consider the possibility of Jacobs exerting his considerable influence to skew the outcome. If this happens repeatedly, we can attempt to raise a concern with the league, citing evidence.

The fact that our game is going to be reffed by a Boston ref tonight doesn't fill me with confidence going forward either.

Someone made one of these nonsense threads last year too. I'm angry about the game but come on, we don't need whatever this is.

Considering you didn't have this game correct, perhaps someone else should track this conspiracy theory.

There's an interesting site I just learned about. Maybe its commonplace news to others but in case anyone is interested it's scoutingtherefs.com ...interesting breakdown on the refs for upcoming games.

What's the point of this? So some lunatics can harass them or their family on social media?

It's fine to display your outrage over bad officiating, but this gripe is with the league and not the individuals out there trying to do a job. Nothing good can come from bringing these guys' names to the forefront.
