I'm really getting irritated... I pay the price for the NHL Ticket on Directv and somewhere between 6-8 games a year are blacked out and can only be watched on ESPN+or Hulu. The most important game of the year and of course it's one of the blackouts. Any options I'm missing besides caving and paying for another streaming service?

A convincing win tonight has to be a nail in the coffin for the Canucks. In the other hand, if they want to stabilize their skid, dominating the Blues will show us who the sheriff is.

It’s nice for this team to be playing tough games against good teams that matter. Now win.

Who is starting tonight in net?
I haven't seen any announcement, but it will be Binner. This game is as close to a playoff game as it gets and he is well rested. Unless you believe that Montgomery is considering riding Hofer into (and through) the playoffs, there is zero reason to think he'd start Hofer tonight.

Barring a surprise injury/illness, the #1 goalie on this team is playing tonight and Binner is that guy.

It won't help you tonight, but for next season you should consider getting an annual ESPN+ membership in place of NHL Center Ice. ESPN+ gets you all the out of market games that Center Ice gets you, but it also gets you the ESPN+/Hulu exclusive games and a ton of additional non-NHL content. An annual membership is $120 or you can go monthly for $12 a month, which would be $86 if you only kept it for the NHL season. I go with the annual subscription because I watch enough non-NHL-game content to get my money's worth in the offseason.

ESPN+ is a streaming service that won't be integrated as channels in your DirecTV. However, the ESPN app is available on most (if not all) Smart TVs released in the last 5+ years and is also available with a Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, Chromecast, Playstation, or XBox. Odds are pretty good that you have a way to stream ESPN+ on your TV without connecting a computer or having to buy something new. You can chose to start games from the beginning if you start watching late and they upload games to watch on demand pretty quickly after games end if you miss the game completely.

If you have an Apple TV or an X Box, there is a multicast option that let's you watch 4 games at once (across all sports in the app). It is heaven.

Highest stakes game for the Blues in years. Even from a neutral standpoint, it's a massive game for the playoffs and for what we should think about the post-JT Canucks. Seems like Miller hasn't moved the needle in New York. Are both him and Pettersson gonna fail to show that they weren't the issue?

Of course, this all happens when the Blues have the exact same start time as Mizzou basketball. If we make the playoffs, you just know we're gonna get 8:30 weekday local start times against the Jets.

Tonight is without question a 2 TV night. I have a wall mounted TV in my combination home-gym office that is super easy to take off the wall and move to another room, so that one will absolutely be joining the living room tonight.

Nucks are 12-7-1 in their last 20, EP is back to form, Quinns healthy and Demko is back in a game or two.
Not exactly skidding and coming off our best game of the year against the top team. I'd say it's a bigger game for you guys since we have a game in hand.
Either huge game and it feels like a playoff atmosphere.

The nucks are 5-5-0 in their last 10. Why are we including 11-20 games ago?

Also, the jets are not the top team in the NHL any more after their relatively pedestrian recent play (5-4-1 in their last 10).
