Richards - His puck handling and plays are way off.
Greene - Slow and dumb penalty
Nolan - Dumb penalty
Pearson - Rookie

Greene needs to cheer the Kings from the pressbox. Modry would've showed more effort on that Beleskey goal.
Nolan needs to smarten up. I love how he always skates hard tho.
Pearson has been quite solid since his last call-up.
King was meh in this game vs. Ducks - average but he is a good forchecker and really good positional player.
Richards with the puck: :shakehead Richards without the puck: :shakehead:shakehead

This sums it up.

Also use Toffoli better. Maybe try putting Carter with Kopitar to get him going.

The previous games Sutter seemed to use every grinder available on the PK. Would have liked to see Toffoli get a chance to gain confidence before the cup run.

Not as worried about Muzzin as I was 2 months ago. He has progressed in my eyes. Some mistakes but also is keeping the oppositions heads up with big hits and can skate and pinch. Poor mans version of a rookie Blake.

Not worried about Pearson. He will be a HS or random energy plug this year and gain valuable experience.

Concerned with Voynov still but seems to be heading in the right direction since DD went down

Brown looks way better

Paging MR Rocket, where did you go

Impressed w Lewis this last month

Greene scares me in many different ways and better be a HS.

Top line is hot and meshes well

Unfortunately I feel Quick will need to go full beast mode for us to have a sniff at the cup

It will be interesting to see where DS will insert Richards when we are at the Tank. You know Tmac gonna put Thornton on Richards all night long. I hope DS knows how to turn on that switch and get Richards going. We need Richards to activates his Beast mode, otherwise he is the weakest link in our forward going to the first round.

What I don't like about Muzzin is his hockey IQ and his wimpy plays. I'd noticed in many occasions he was worry about being hit more than taking the hit to make the play. Fresh and prime example is the Ducks 3rd goal last night. Shiet, Toffoli is a smaller dude but he plays much tougher.

These SHOULD be the lines going into the playoffs. Sutter will continue to be stubborn and not play them this way though even when we cannot generate any offense, and since Quick does not seem to be playing exceptionally well, if Sutter doesn't takes some risks to improve the offensive, it will be a short series, and not in a good way. Man, you can see how much we miss Doughty.

Gaborik-Kopitar-Williams-Playing well, Williams needs to go into playoff beast mode
Pearson-Carter-Toffoli-Can actually generate scoring chances and offense, a risk defensively, but if we can't get Carter going, we are done.
King-Stoll-Brown-Seem to have good chemistry and can generate offense, just have to stay out of the box (I'm talking to you two, Stoll and Brown).
Clifford-Richards-Lewis-The only chance this line has to chip in on both ends is with Richards at center.

Bench-Nolan

Quick-Seems to get into the too aggressive mode a lot lately, which puts him out of position too much and makes him very vulnerable to players getting in behind him and tapping the puck in or shots from opposite angles. The Kings defense as a whole plays better with a calm, stay at home goalie (the stats back this up with Bernier, Scrivens and Jones all posting better numbers than Quick behind the current Kings D the last two seasons). Not saying it won't be Quick all the way, just an observation. Not as confident as I would like to be in Quick with his recent inconsistent play.

Without Doughty we are in big trouble on the blue-line. You have seen the last week without him against better competition, his absence if very noticeable on both sides of the ice. All indications are he will play, but he will be rusty, and just how big of an impact will his injury cause?

Muzzin has been playing so poorly, it would not surprise me one bit if Sutter went with the grizzled veteran Greene to bring more size to the line-up against the Sharks. Not saying Greene has been playing great lately, just don't be surprised if this happens.

Regehr did not play well last night and his timing and reads were a step slower than usual. We'll chalk it up to him being a little rusty, but we need him to be in form.

Martinez-Doughty
Regehr-Voynov
Mitchell-Greene

This would be my choice.

Good luck and go Kings.

Matt Greene was the worst Kings player yesterday. He didn't challenge Beleskey on the 3rd goal, was beaten wide by Ducks bottom 6 players all night and was lucky the linesmen called an offside (there was none) on his dreadful pass to Kopitar with 3min to go in regulation.
Honestly I would rather see Campbell in the lineup then Greene.
Quick was not good at all yesterday either and I am not talking only about the goals he gave up. Bill Ranford needs to have a practice with him....

Don't really care, Sutter can only do so much with the lineup.

Kings players will have too man up and out play their match-up.

The Kings will either want it or not, Does no good too ***** about the lineup.

It is what it is.

Would you guys trade Richards+Muzzin for Roman Josi? Doughty-Josi-Voynov would be great D core for years, all signed longterm on friendly caphits. Richards isn't 2nd line center anymore and I'm afraid never will again. Maybe Preds would bite on this, they are very weak on forwards.

I would love to see Martinez pairing with Doughty, but knowing DS, it's not going to be. DS likes to have a puck moving Dman on each D pairing.

Muzzin and a late pick. Otherwise, it would be way too high Roman Josi

Big LOL... not likely... Richards is on the down side of his career. Josi is a TREMENDOUS player for the Preds, and makes Shea Weber look MUCH better than he really is (in the D zone.)

Poile would have to take a puck to his other eye for him to be that blind!

What??? Richards just having an off year. Lets see how he plays in the PO before we cast the final vote on Richards.

When Muzzin hesitates or thinks before he makes a play he's awful. Mike Richards better have some sort of hand or arm injury announced after the season is over or I'll be very worried. When the puck is on his stick it's only a matter of time before he loses it. He looks like he conditions with Dustin Penner during the summer.

Not making this about Richards, but if you think DL would trade him for defense, he won't. He would package him for a center.

We don't have strong center prospects that are close to the it to the big leagues..

I'm kind of surprised how bad Muzzin has been with out Doughty. I didn't know he carried Muzzin that much.

Doughty totally carries Muzzin but I actually think Muzzin has been solid in everything other than decisions with the puck--it's those brutal turnovers that unfortunately invalidate everything else, but his defensive play has improved by leaps and bounds imo. Unpopular opinion: he's developing into the perfect #2 if you could keep the puck away from him, i.e. he can't be the guy to lead the charge but he's good support.

This sums it up.

Also use Toffoli better. Maybe try putting Carter with Kopitar to get him going.

#2 on the team in 60 some odd games in +/-. Sure we'd love to see him score more, but he's not misused, he was darn good this season.

I refuse to say anything negative about Matt Greene. Before last season he was literally the most physical defenseman of the last 4 seasons in the NHL and he didn't take that many penalties especially considering how physical he was. Probably one of the meanest/legal hitters in hockey as well and a team leader. He hurt his back, which for a physical DMan like him is the last injury you wanna have and he hasn't been the same since. I can say this... The Kings are going to need Greener over the course of the playoffs. So y'all need to get used to the idea of him playing.

KK11,

Why would you want to break up Kopitar and Gaborik to play TT in his un-natural position with Carter and Kopi?

That means you are sticking Gaborik with Richards, which would be a disaster in many ways.

No way. I'm saying either put Gaborik Kopitar Carter/Toffoli.

I think Toffoli is playing on the fourth line right? I don't think Carter /Toffoli should be with Richards

Toffoli playing on the fourth line is a ****ing joke. Just send him down if that's where he's going to be playing.

Feels like I wrote this post a long time ago, but it was less than 2 months ago. Either way, I don't mind saying, I WAS RIGHT!

I've been thinking for long chucnks of time this year that it would be Greene's last season with the Kings. Now I'm wondering if it will be Mitchell instead. Greene is such a warrior, and MG for another 2-3 years may be better than Mitchell for 1-2. Tough decisions this offseason, cuz someone won't be coming back.

I don't think Either will be returned, Too many Kids coming up with way more upside.
