I

I think some of their players have graduated but yes, their being last is awful.

Sucks the O's are first.

Jays were first or top in the league a few years ago and the Rays were first these last few years. Padres and Mariners also rounded out the top 5. Doesn’t automatically mean it will translate to success in the majors.

O’s have what most rebuilding teams have. They are playing over their heads a little. Some of these guys will regress and some of the prospects will flame out. They will be good but I can’t see them setting the division on fire for years to come.

Not sure if I mentioned this here before but I've noticed this trend for awhile now and it's really interesting.

The Blue Jays haven't featured any star/MVP level of positional value this season, but they're still arguably the most balanced lineup in baseball. For the record they're at 6 2+ fWAR positional players now (not 7) with Espinal at 1.9 fWAR. The 8th best is Gurriel at 1.3 fWAR. The Braves' 6th and 7th are at 1.8 fWAR, the Dodgers' 6th and 7th are at 1,7 and 1.5, and the Yankees' 6-8 are at 1.4 fWAR.

For some historical context

They reached 6 in: 2016*, 2015*, 2006, 2000, 1993*, 1989*, 1988, 1987, 1986, 1983

And they reached 7 in: 1999, 1992*, 1985*, 1984

They've never had 8 positional players with 2+ fWAR in a season.

Any scouting reports on Jimmy Robbins?

He got bumped up to AA in the last few days and has yet to start but he did well with Vancouver although he was older. Good strikeout numbers but walks are high. He did miss 2020 and 2021.

Chapman was rattled when told Kikuchi had offered to go down to Buffalo if that would be better for the team.

“I think I’m going to go talk to (Kikuchi) and let him know that (he’s) a lot more valuable than (he thinks he) is, because he doesn’t need to be getting optioned and I think there’s still a lot of great things he can do for this club,” Chapman said. “I’m gonna go pump him up now.”

May need to get myself a Chappy jersey

Addison Barger is starting to look like a very good prospect after promotion to AA and ripping it up.

Season stats thru A+/AA

I really hope Berrios can bounce back. I know I've been saying this all year but how he plays the next 6-8 weeks might be the difference maker going forward as that would give us four starters who can go out every night and give the team a good shot at winning. Kikuchi got moved to BP so I doubt he'll be pitching in any high leverage situations for the rest of the year

Offensively, Bo is the x-factor. Too many times he's killed rallies by striking out or just by having a poor approach, if he can have a better plate approach with RISP (because he has many ABs with RISP) that would be huge

Bichette and Berrios will need to perform for the team to go far this year, they're the missing pieces to why this team has been so up and down

The division title is still in play as wild as it sounds.

If they can take minimum 3 of 4 off the Yankees they have a shot. Especially with the Yankees having to face DeGrom and Scherzer in their mini series with the Mets starting monday.
