I wouldn't even say Vladdy has underperformed. Outside of one bad month (May) he's had a wRC+ in the 150s. He's also the only one actually performing above the mark this month (Bo, Teo, and Espi are around their career averages). Need Kirk and Chappy to get going quick.
The context missing from wRC+ is loading up in 10 games but being mediocre for 30 games looks the same as a consistent reliable bat. We just need him to even out that production. I don't really believe in "clutch hitting" but I do believe in the mental aspect of the game.

Our pitching looks worse than it is.

A 1-2 of Monoah + Gausman is a pretty sweet top of the rotation.

3 - Berrios is just having a very bizarre year. No one would have guessed this was going to happen, a lot of teams were after him last year.

4 - Ryu got injured.

5 - Kikuchi is looking like Atkins' biggest mistake.

6-7 are very good bottom of the rotation guys in Strip and White.

As for the bullpen, we added 2 very good arms. It's still mediocre, but when healthy, I think it's good enough.

What's killing me is our bats. We have a ton of guys who are having bad years by their standards...outside of Kirk, JR and Espi's first 40 games, the entire offence has underperformed. Our pitching would be fine if our offence was more reliable.
Lets hope team can rebound .. I am back from Italy 3 weeks and be nice to see us fight like h*ll for a playoff spot .. at least go down with a fight .. watched my 2nd game last night (Manoah looked fine but Kirk needs to be a DH i think) and Gausman against Cleveland (oh well i am not gonna say anything but he needs to compete more).. team looks like it has given up .. hitting, defense and pitching like a team playing out da string

Okay but that hasn't been the case with Vladdy? You're not going to find many, if any guys loading up for 10 games and being mediocre for 30 and produce at his level. That's a ridiculous take.

Edit: over his last month of games he's had 6 under 100 wRC+ (and has had a 194 wRC+ over that span, T-3rd). The league leader over that span, Judge (295 wRC+) also has 6 games under 100 wRC+. The 2nd (Goldschmidt) and T-3rd (Arenado) players have both had 7.

I feel like the Dodgers are going to end up like how my dad saw the Braves in the 90s when I'm his age.

"You had all that talent and the best you can do is one world series win and only two trips?"

The Braves are arguably worse since their big 3 could be argued as the greatest rotation ever assembled, but still.

Also tied for 1st in HRs at the AA level and he is the youngest player on the list.

While there are obviously concerns in his contact rate, I can't help but feel like some people are jumping off the boat really really fast with Orelvis. He is still incredibly young for the league he is in and showing plus plus power in game already. I get cooling on him slightly but he has been dropping fast down some lists. To me next season is his big year.

Remember when Roy Halliday was having major issues? They sent him to the minors to get it back. Which he did. I am not sure how they were able to send him down? They should do that with Kikuchi.

What does trading for Murray and signing Samsonov reek of?
Firstly Murray and Samsanov don't play for the Jays all though maybe I missed that. Second, it's prretty said some get upset that Jays are criticized so they bring up some other topic that has nothing to do with them. That seems like a way to excuse every move they make and bring up the Leafs for whatever reason. Also maybe you missed it, I literally wanted Dubas fired for the Murray fiasco so if this is a shot at me, well nice try but not correct.
Come on buddy be better. I like you as a poster but don't resort to that stuff. I expect others to do that. You're literally one of the last people I thought would do that.
It's like when you called me out for Lowry comments which I own, so I'm doing it here.

I fail to see why a manager who is adjusting his scuffling lineup more radically than the previous manager warrants criticism. Did you not want Montoyo fired? Did you not want changes to the lineup? I’ve seen you flip flop on these Jays more times than any other poster here.

Edit, new convo

Honest question, is Stripling looking like a QO guy? I think so

You're probably right. I overreacted there I admit. I'm too negative these days as I can't deal with another 2nd half callapse from a Toronto team:laugh:
Whats his QO supposed to be at? Stripling has legit been an under a radar favorite of mine. Maybe Hayes can stop making fun of him by calling him Chicken Strips? It's not even a nickname. He clearly uses it to insult the guy. It's annoying.

It’s not confirmed yet but the QO will likely be in the 18-19m range again.

It is just north of 18 million. I also think that is literally Striplings nickname, like he has it on his glove I am pretty sure.

Oh okay I apologize then. Hayes one time posted a GIF of chicken strips from a commercial after a bad outing from Stripling last season. His tone from the way he uses his name suggests he's making fun of him, but if thats his nickname than fair enough.
