Yankees just keep losing. Jays could've been about 5 games back of them had they played decent baseball in the last 2 weeks. Wasted opportunity

Their SP have been pitching incredibly poorly too. Only Cortes is giving them shutdown innings. Their pen has also taken a hit with King out and Holmes blowing a few games lately.

Would like to see the rotation go:

Manoah, Gausman, Berrios, Stripling, White for the rest of the way.

The Jays acquired a guy who was giving solid outings for the DODGERS of all teams, I don't see why he can't replace Kikuchi.
That has to be the plan going forward, I think the Stripling injury kept Kikuchi in the rotation the last few times through or he would have been out already.

I don't think Kikuchi starts again. The way Schneider was talking, his leash has officially run out.

Also listening to Siddall and Campbell rip him in the post game was hilarious. Both guys are usually pretty even keeled and even they couldn't hold back. Siddall went as far to call for a phantom IL stint to shut him down for the rest of the year.

If they get swept by Baltimore even I'm not going to be able to deny they suck.

Essentially the Nationals received the top 13 (Wood), 14 (Abrams) and 16 (Hassell) prospects in Baseball + a former top 50 prospect (Gore) and a top international pitching prospect (Susana) for Juan Soto.

No a bad haul.
Question is, what would they have been rated if they didnt trade them for Soto and were still with the Padres.

Yup, i saw one list that had Wood ranked 3rd and the next Aaron Judge.

My biggest problem with Martinez, admittedly as a casual prospect watcher is his stupidly high K rate.

He gets K'd in 31 percent of ABs. Am I supposed to just assume that's going to somehow get better as the pitching he faces gets better? I can at least understand the hype around a guy like Tiedemann because he's dominated at every level of ball. But Martinez? Ehhh.

I think that guy who did the ranking might just have a bias towards power given he put James Wood ahead of CJ Abrams. Abrams was expected to be the more well rounded player (cruised through AA and AAA basically) while everyone drools over Wood's raw power and comparisons to Aaron Judge.

Kikuchi has an ERA of 7.06 and FIP of 7.80 in his last 11 starts.

Forget JoJo Reyes territory, we've entered the depths of hell. Welcome to Josh Towers territory.

I don’t pay any attention to other teams prospects but I think I have been overrating the Jays farm system.

It looks better with the new crop, but there does not seem to be a ton of high level guys and a lot of the lower level guys are struggling too.

Funny you mention that because I was looking at a table that shows the worst 11 game stretch in franchise history. I was like "man Kikuchi has to be up there for worse right?"

He's surprisingly at the bottom of the list. There's some real stinkers in this franchise history:

Toronto is now a half game from falling to the last wild card spot.

Absolutely embarrasing effort tonight. Crappy gameplan at the plate, pisspoor defensive effort with their best pitcher on the hill.

I'm officially pissed off. 6 errors in the last 3 games. I refuse to blame Manoah for tonight's loss. Kid got punched and he owned it.
