you want a player who can make a impact. sometimes the unknowns do a better job. montas has enough red flags that you might not feel comfortable giving up assets , that return could be 100 wins for the a's if montas cant win at yankee stadium.
I mean that's purely conjecture , I wouldn't want montas for a ransom but given the meager return so far I don't think it's a dangerous gamble for the yankees.

I actually think this is less about the Yankees prospects being overrated and more about the A’s propensity to target older, closer to the major prospects in their trades. The Blue Jays essentially did the same thing to the A’s in the Chapman deal, gave up a lot less then expected but all of their pieces were upper minors, or in Hoglund’s case, expected to rise quick through the minors.
The A’s go for more quantity than quality. Instead of getting 1 great prospect they rather get good prospects

Just come out and say you're not focused on winning this year then.

They've ripped off a hot streak coming out of the break and have proven they can still hang. At least grab a bullpen arm.

So Shi Davidi is saying there might be something that we aren’t seeing… maybe Jays are trying to work something that none of us know out of the known trade candidates

Have to make moves. Ohtani will be a yankee next year so we can kiss that good bye

It’s now or never. Go get Rodon and Skubal with 2 tigers bullpen guys too. Add Happ. Do whatever to improve drastically this year

Did anyone else completely forget that Joe Musgrove was drafted by the Jays and traded for JA Happ?
Not me. Musgrove was a prospect I was big one. Declafani was my sleeper prospect around that time that went in to have a decent career

really.... what would give you this idea. a full 24 hours to go. a front office that is sealed tighter then priests diary a front office that has preached creating a sustainable contender. has went big game shopping 3 off seasons in a row. a team that has showed drastic improvement . yet your throwing them under the bus and throwing up a while flag?

So far love the moves the Yanks have made so far. Although I hate the Yanks. Have to hope some of the usual suspects come down with injuries.

Dodgers out here playing diamond dynasty irl If this actually legit lmao.

The Padres are about to be left at the alter again or will counter by finding the biggest, shiniest trade piece in retaliation

Man some of our fans are freaking out we haven't done anything and it's not even deadline day.
Ha, I was just about to say that when I saw yours. People are literally acting as if the deadline just passed and the Jays stood pat. We're still 24 hours out!

It shouldn't be that surprising, though. Remember when Springer signed? In the months leading up to that, every time someone else signed during the offseason, people acted as if it was because the Jays didn't care about winning or wouldn't spend the money or whatever the hell it was.

The Jays are going to make moves. I don't know if they'll be major moves or just a couple solid bullpen arms or what, but there's still LOTS of time for things to happen. It's gonna be ok.

Ohtani probably.

Just catching up on some of the deals. Kind of annoying the Yankees didn't have to give in on giving up Peraza with more than a day to go until the deadline. Not a complete rip off though, but the Yankees got the better end of it.

The 3 way deal is interesting. BTV has the Astros getting ripped off, Mancini seems like a solid rental piece though. Siri is an interesting piece going the other way. Really bad with the bat this year but has value in the field and on the basepaths.
