Post-Game Talk: The summer of our discontent

Realistically this team got further than it should've. Only team in the post lockout era to make Finals with an average age over 30. Highly unstable goaltending situation. And faced a potential 4 game sweep round 1 if a few coaches challenges and bounces don't happen. McDavid, Draisaitl, Bouchard heroics and a few timely contributions from unlikely players got us here. Ken Holland is absolute trash who f***ed the team over like no other and Jeff Jackson isn't much better. Get rid of the dead weight middle class veterans, Nurse too if possible, get some goaltending, and get the big boys the help they deserve.

Was better than I expected this playoff. Enjoyed the run. Too bad they couldn’t close it out but Florida took full advantage of LTIR rules and we did not.

Going to be a long short summer. Plenty of changes coming. One better be a new starting goalie and goalie coach with an entire goalie excellence department.

We’re never winning the thing until we take goaltending seriously.

No moral victories here. No lessons learnt from the last hard earned, bitter experience last season. Just another summer to stew on it. Leadership was nowhere to be found. The only legacy here is the collective invisible man every guy in an Oilers jersey turned into for the last 3 games. A huge f***ing disgrace and a shameful display by these guys.

So many passengers to get rid of, so much dead weight once again. Sorry Oilers brothers and sisters.. glad to be here with you all but completely disgusted by that team right now.

Welp. That f***ing sucked. The trolls will take over tonight and I have no interest in debating with idiots who will drag me down to their level and beat me with experience.

GET A f***ING GOALIE.

See y'all at the draft.

I’m sticking around for the 3 month ban. It’s summer after all! Free troll nut kicking time!

This starts with Katz. Hopefully he sells to private equity or something and cashes out this summer so a real businessperson/people can take over and eject the deadweight like Schwartz.

However the core also has to share the blame, they didn’t deliver again when it mattered. Leon and Connor have to take an uncomfortable look at themselves after this and decide if they really want to win or are merely content with being also-rans.

The “big boys” are part of the problem, not the solution. Zero leadership or effort shown by McDrai the last 2 games. Don’t even get me started on the goaltending of this team. That third goal against was the epitome of Stuart Skinner.

Not only coming away with 0 Cups but uninspiring performances in game 7 last year and games 5+6 this year. Especially from our top players.

Who knows if this core ever gets back. And if they do, would any of us trust them to win?
Not the fault of the core. When the core falters the depth needs to step up. Barkov went 3 points -3 in 6 games this series but it didn't matter because guys like Bennett, Marchand, Lundell, and Luostarinen killed us instead and we have an absolute dog shit roster outside of the McDavid/Draisaitl/Bouchard trio. One of our few depth guys who could do stuff getting injured in Zach Hyman doesn't help either.
You forgot Kane. Arvidsson. Henrique. Kapanen.
Kapanen doesn't deserve to be lumped in with those other losers. 1 million dollar waiver pickup who scored the OT series winner vs Vegas, 2 point game 1, and a big play in game 4 in our only wins. He performed his role and then some.
