The thread turn into a discussion of Hull against Caufield.

Come on guys there's not point doing that. It's even disrespectful to put those two names into the same sentence.

Caufield for me is the type of players that complete better all around player. He's not the engine on his line but he can play with those guys and be a spark. His natural goalscoaring ability make him a perfect fit on a top 6 but he will always have his flaws. You cannot expect all your top 6 forward to be big, able to play two way, physical and talented in the Ozone. Its all about balance.

Caufield has some dog in him , he's not great in his own zone but he hounds pucks in the ozone , of course he losses alot of battles but the willingness is there.

Look at other 1st/second line wingers in the league who put up 30 goals 60-70 points , not many are very good defensively , some 100 point guys are even bad at it (Panarin , Pasta). There's even huge guys who suck at it (Brady Tkachuk)

I thought Caufield played two of his best games all year in the last couple despite not scoring. He's was battling hard on the 2nd line and has set up a few beauties for apples. Loved seeing him separate the puck from Draisaitl along the boards in the O zone to set up a big goal.

Say what you want about him not being a line driver, but he's the one that's been stirring the drink on that line last couple games.

I agree his last game reminded me of the Caufield we saw coming down the stretch last season.
He absolutely has to get dirty and make plays to compliment his streaky scoring.

Side debate on whether or not a one way player can be considered AA or AAA type player. I'd say absolutely and Hull is a good example.

I can tell Bergevin was a complete idiot after the first press conference , can't say the same for Hughes but if the rebuild fails yeah put him in there with them

Prospects outside pro hockey are underwhelming as a whole.

Prospects in pro hockey (Russia, AHL, etc) are either getting no ice-time, or slowing down.

Team really needs to hold onto their 2 1sts and 2 seconds as they're a great chance they'll have 4 picks top 40, or potentially better.

Habs should also look at their scouting staff. A lot of them have been with the Habs for a while and you can look back and realize some of them likely aren't good or just the scouting staff as a whole maybe
