The sooner he gets showns and told to play like he did last season after the All-Star, the faster he gets salvaged. I have no idea what he's being told and shown right now, but it's the wrong thing.
I don't think anybody is telling him to exclusively make blind passes and never ever shoot the puck my man

might as well just send him and Hutson down, season is already wasted

It's tough though, how many guys have been sent to the AHL before their 50M contract has even started?
You'll have to bring other kids up. They can't all play in the AHL there's not enough room. We needs vets in the AHL team too can't have 20 kids playing there. Half the AHL lienup is already prospects.

He had a shift in the 1st where he sidled up next to two Utes and Dach battling for the puck in the corner to Monty’s right and then did nothing. Literally just stood in position watching. His head is simply not there right now

He has to figure out what type of player he’s gonna be in this league.

He has that look of “what am I supposed to do?”. That’ll slow anyone down.

If he finds what works for him, he’ll be hard to stop. I think he has to improve how he uses his body. He seems too puck focused in tight areas. (He’s always reaching and leaning, fishing.) Combine that and and shooting more.

The combination worked for Tage Thompson (tho TT has better hands and it clicked when he moved to center … so not exactly the same).

His brain is lagging , too slow to make decisions. Someone plug him back in.
1- I think Dach has been a net negative because he takes Slaf’s spot on the #1 PP and Slaf can ‘t take one-timers.
2- But, his problem is mainly not shooting, and not driving the net when he’s not in a shooting position.
Maybe he’s scared because of the head shots he’s received.

he won the norris...
and yes he turned out and got us Weber

we see of slaf

what is your feeling on Slaf? good deal??
My feeling is if he develops outstanding deal and if he doesn't develop he'll be tradeable because he'll be young and big and a team rebuilding will take the gamble with him no problem. I don't see the negatives tbh.

Way too many people are overly negative on this board atm. It's the 2nd youngest team in the league with the same group of vets that got the previous management fired. The last two 1st round picks are not in the NHL atm. Not sure what people expected.

Effort is what I expect.
yes we are young, but does that mean guys can float?
Just give a solid effort and work hard, then other things will come

He’s not using his size to get in shooting position, and he’s not shooting.
As for him getting his spot back on the #1PP, I’m not counting on it. HuGo paid big for Dach, he’s their man, and they’ll continue throwing good money after bad until he leaves.
And Dach will get killed in front of the net so it’s either Slaf or Armia or someone else that takes that spot.

Suzuki looks lost without Slaf and vice versa. Break up the only line that is legitimate.
I'd bring Slaf back with Suzuki ansd caufield. I feel like 10 so so games where the production was still actually ok was too fast to break them up. I feel like Stl answered to the media and fans pressure more than anything else.

Nah, Susuki looked like he was mailing it early in the season when playing with Slaf.
He still look like that. He was pretty bad offensively yesterday imo.

Slaf is the one forward Marty feels most comfortable whipping, despite his age and draft pedigree.

That's because he knows Slaf has a dawg mindset and will be motivated by being challenged.

There have been flashes of brilliance in between long stretches of bad hockey. The guy we all saw last year is not gone. Patience and tough love will pay off with this kid.
