With what Lou did to Isles cap structure with all those long NTC deals for mid players? Or Bridgeport? No. Just no f***ing way. No. f***ing. Way.
LL is a widely known "name" within the NHL. So as the bright and shiny thing that is (supposedly) attracting Pegula's unwavering attention...

Welcome to the Buffalo Sabres as the new Senior NHL Consultant Mr Lamoriello.

Coming here as an Islanders fan (and UB alum). Hopefully the Sabres can keep Lou from trying to enforce all his rules and fix the playoff drought.

*can someone also photoshop him walking into Level and Bottoms Up. Especially if it’s Bottoms Up with Derek Roy “guest bartending”.

Reactions: SECRET SQUIRREL
Say what you want about Lou but we can't get any worse than we are so nit picking someone with experience after all the amateur hires and missing the playoffs for the 14th year is hilarious to me.

Do I really want Lou? No but I'd try anything at this point to not make it the 15th year.

This is where I am at

Do I want Lou, no

Do I want kevyn and status quo ........I'll take anything over that

At least try

I don't think we should really have any illusions. IF we get a senior advisor (at all), we aren't getting the best and brightest. We're getting someone in who is clinging onto some hope of staying in the game (and can't get a cushy TV gig)

This job is a placeholder for whoever takes it, and will be spending half their time here lining up interviews at any GM job that opens up in season and possibly trying to stab adams in the back to take his job.
Stabbing Adams in the back seams like a plus to me.
But I am sure they will find someone who isn't as ambitious to fit under the balless current regime .

Honest question, why does everyone hate Lou so much? Do we hate his boring Islanders that much? I am getting some strict rule things but that's not his role as an advisor.

Maybe it's just me, but that looks more like Kevin O'Leary of Shark Tank fame than Lou Lam...
Whoever it was, was in a nice sunny location for a long long time. Also seems to have been wearing a hat the whole time

Blah

General complaints are:
1) Terry wanting too much control
2) Terry not willing to spend
3) kevyn too slow to make decisions
4) under qualified staff
5) inability to build a team, rather than collect players

There's debate as to the legitimacy of each, there's overlap between all of them, but I doubt lou solves any of it.

1-4 aren't a lack of knowledge, they're choices. 5 could be lack of knowledge but Lou isn't the one who's got it.

The only thing I can think of is that he'd have a bigger network so our employee pool expands beyond people who went to kindergarten together.

I just don't think Lou makes the sabres the Islanders, I think he makes them an even crappier sabres

That might be worse news.

Though Terry appearing on Shark Tank begging for help for the Sabres would be hilarious

I also suddenly have an urge to have Lou Lameriello based reality show called "Franchise Rescue" where Lou Lameriello comes in, verbally abuses the Sabres front office and ownership, and fixes the front office.

Well said.

Lou teams made the playoffs something like 28/38 years I read. But it certainly would be deal with the devil level.

ps 99% its fake
