In a vacuum it’s fine, but collectively, one of those little embarrassments that just keep stacking up.
I’m convinced that they don’t really care about perception anymore. You can’t shame the shamelessThe idea that Adams gets a sixth year but also they will bring in someone with experience to help out is objectively hilarious.
It means they believe in Adams plan after five years of failure…the last two of which the team regressed…but also that he is…incapable of pulling off said plan? Which is why they need someone who knows what they’re doing in the room? Part of his plan was to not have anyone qualified in the room to begin with.
So let’s flash forward on this with who we want that experienced hire to be.
I don’t care what their name is or where they’ve been. The only thing I want from them is total honesty about how f***ed this organization is when this fails again. I want someone who goes on with Marek or Friedman and lays out how f***ing inept this owner and GM are. I want the earth scorched so badly that a year seven is impossible.

Someone online made a great point: In the NFL you get a Josh Allen as QB who leads you to victory. The Sabres strategy is make Nate Petterman the QB and construct a roster around him to hide the fact he isn't any good. It's completely ass backwards. The idea that Adams gets a sixth year but also they will bring in someone with experience to help out is objectively hilarious.

He was also in Buffalo for less than a truncated Covid season, it was an absolute waste of space while he was in town. It’s not like he has massive bonds to the area, has any idea what it means to pull that jersey on over his head in a meaningful way.
Berglund, Leino, and Hall must've all had prior engagements
The special advisor will report to Adams and Adams will continue to report to Pegula. This is someone who can assess KA, they can keep KA on a short leash and have this person as backup, and then they can also help bring in a new GM if they part with KA quickly.
I'd prefer a clean slate, but better than nothing I supposed.
I think the correct answer is much more simple:It is like the entire franchise exists to build careers for Kevyn Adams and Seth Appert. No idea why Terry Pegula feels like he owes it to those two and purposely keeps the organization in the dark ages keeping their paths clear.
Someone who wants to get rich babysitting the rich guy’s adopted kid? What kind of Senior Advisor is going to want to work under Kevyn Adams?
Good, Ken Holland is terrible and hasn't done anything positive for his teams in over a decade.![]()
Report: Ken Holland a serious candidate for Isles' GM vacancy
The New York Islanders interviewed Ken Holland for their general manager vacancy, and he's considered a serious candidate for the position, reports The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun.New York opted not to renew longtime executive Lou Lamoriello's contract in late April, ending his seven-year tenure...www.thescore.com
If he gets the Isles GM job, scratch that name off the list of potential advisors with the Sabres.
Probably hitting nail pretty much on the head, Pegula does not want to EVER deal with a LaFontaine again even though it started the demise of his franchises reputation around the league, and the GM disasters of Murray, Botts.I’m convinced that they don’t really care about perception anymore. You can’t shame the shameless

I wonder is Adams is friends with Blake, sort of kidding![]()
