In a vacuum it’s fine, but collectively, one of those little embarrassments that just keep stacking up.

The idea that Adams gets a sixth year but also they will bring in someone with experience to help out is objectively hilarious.

It means they believe in Adams plan after five years of failure…the last two of which the team regressed…but also that he is…incapable of pulling off said plan? Which is why they need someone who knows what they’re doing in the room? Part of his plan was to not have anyone qualified in the room to begin with.

So let’s flash forward on this with who we want that experienced hire to be.

I don’t care what their name is or where they’ve been. The only thing I want from them is total honesty about how f***ed this organization is when this fails again. I want someone who goes on with Marek or Friedman and lays out how f***ing inept this owner and GM are. I want the earth scorched so badly that a year seven is impossible.

What kind of Senior Advisor is going to want to work under Kevyn Adams?

I’m convinced that they don’t really care about perception anymore. You can’t shame the shameless

It's worse..they do care about perceptions... they just can't see that this perception is about as on point as Pegula visiting the teams lockerroom on the road.

They think this is what fans want to see and they fail yet again.

I’m taking a very purposeful stance on this. Simply…I was here before Terry Pegula and I will be here long after he’s gone. He’s f***ing his team over every year…mine is just waiting for his time to be done. I will always root for what’s best for MY team. And, at this point, it’s clear that what’s best for MY team is the complete and utter distraction of Terry’s. My hopes aren’t 87 points and extensions all around for a sixth year of failure with false signs of improvement. My hopes are a laughing stock so lost that the national media can’t talk about anything but. I want pressure the likes of which we’ve never seen put onto this regime until something changes. Because that’s what’s best for this franchise. And I will always root for what’s best for this franchise.

Now…I’ve been saying this for three years…and three years ago most people fought against it and called me too negative. Well…here we are. Three years later.

Someone online made a great point: In the NFL you get a Josh Allen as QB who leads you to victory. The Sabres strategy is make Nate Petterman the QB and construct a roster around him to hide the fact he isn't any good. It's completely ass backwards.

Any chance pegula is purposely putting out a bad team to try and tank land/property value around the arena?

Sort of at the point where there has to some motive here because no one can be this blind to the ineptitude

This is someone who can assess KA, they can keep KA on a short leash and have this person as backup, and then they can also help bring in a new GM if they part with KA quickly.

I'd prefer a clean slate, but better than nothing I supposed.
The special advisor will report to Adams and Adams will continue to report to Pegula.

So, I don't think this advisor will be keeping Adams on a short leash. With Karmanos leaving, it may just be a replacement for Karmanos when it comes to voices in the decision making process.

If he gets the Isles GM job, scratch that name off the list of potential advisors with the Sabres.

It is like the entire franchise exists to build careers for Kevyn Adams and Seth Appert. No idea why Terry Pegula feels like he owes it to those two and purposely keeps the organization in the dark ages keeping their paths clear.
I think the correct answer is much more simple:

Terry Pegula is a VERY stupid person.

Good, Ken Holland is terrible and hasn't done anything positive for his teams in over a decade.

Probably hitting nail pretty much on the head, Pegula does not want to EVER deal with a LaFontaine again even though it started the demise of his franchises reputation around the league, and the GM disasters of Murray, Botts.

Every decision they make seems to be based off of the Office Space “actually, I’m being promoted” joke.

Appert failed miserably, and the Amerks improved in every way once he was out, and he’s….gotten more power?

Staal has no experience and seemed to hate his time here, and he’s….here to help recruit players?

If the senior advisor isn’t Kevyn Adams in a fake mustache I’ll be stunned.

I wonder is Adams is friends with Blake, sort of kidding :sarcasm:
