Before the puck has dropped, the injury curse has struck the team. DeSmith left practice on Friday after making a save. He did not practice on Saturday and is listed as Day-to-Dead.
Reports also suggest that Geno is a Game-Time-Decision. The on fire (not literally, though it would not surprise me if he did spontaneously combust) Jeff Carter took Geno's place in the line-up with McCann his fill-in on the PP.
Isles goalie Varlamov seems to be their only doubt heading into Game 1 but is expected to play.
