No one in their right mind would have suggested even the possibility of re-signing Russ with how the season ended. It would be hilarious if they kept Russ and gave him more money than Fields.

If they wanted him back they would have offered him a contract and week ago. They don’t want him back. He physically can not play anymore

They were chasing others a week ago.

And never really gave him an offer neither did Cleveland or New York he is washed

Of course they didn't give him an offer, they had preferred options. Options they felt were better at the time.
Even if he is washed, doesn't preclude them from circling back and making an offer. They might now see him as the best available option if Rodgers goes elsewhere.

Rodgers may be interested in the Vikings but I’d be shocked if the interest was mutual. And if the Steelers prefer Rodgers to Wilson, they have no reason to not just wait this out.

No one has Wilson as their priority. He’ll more than likely be around whenever Rodgers realizes the Vikings don’t want him.

They will just go with Mason and draft a Qb in round 4 instead. RW can not use the entire field nore stick in the pocket which are important for Smith offense

I could see Vikings going for Rodgers. They're built to win and they might not be ready to turn the keys over to a guy who was hurt all last year and has zero experience.

Metcalf we'll be here for five seasons and cost us a 2hd. That was a good trade and solidified a position of need. If we get a QB in the next couple of drafts that shouldn't be an issue. Whoever plays QB this season is either a bridge or a stopgap.

Isn’t that one and the same?

None of the guys available this off-season are the answer. Even Fields.

I’m perfectly fine with them starting Rudolph and drafting a guy late like Shough or Rourke and collecting comp picks. Then going for someone next draft.

If I was them, I wouldn’t overpay for Rodgers. If he wants to play for say 15mil then why not. But anything more than that, no thanks.

I’m skeptical the Vikings would want Rodgers, but I think it should be noted that they did want to keep Darnold but he was just far too expensive for them to keep. Rodgers would presumably be brought in as a veteran mentor and insurance for McCarthy, considering next year is effectively his rookie year due to his ACL tear. Rodgers definitely seems more interested in playing for the Vikings than the Vikings are in him, but there is a logical fit there if Rodgers would accept the role.

I just hope he retires and goes away. Just bring back Russ for a year and draft a QB in 2026.

Is Russ an upgrade over Rodgers? I view them equally as crappy.

Steelers would be wise to just go with Mason and get the franchise QB in '26. Bring in someone for competition but no big name who's ego creates issues within the team.

Instead of QB egos, we will have two diva WRs lose their minds when Rudolph throws it 5 yards over their heads or at their feet.

He's a good QB, not elite, but for one season he'll serve his purpose. If we falter it helps our draft positioning.

I'm on board with Mason. Still scratching my head on their inability to get it done with Fields but when all the options stink, a cheap placeholder is good with me. I still question trading a 2nd for DK but it's water under the bridge now. Rudolph was in 2023 at least as good as anything we got since Ben retired (the bar is so so low).

Rudolph in 2023 was better than anything the Steelers have had since Roethlisberger's elbow issue.
