OT: The Pittsburgher Thread: No 3peat for the Swifts

Jalen Carter? He’s lucky he didn’t up in prison.
That is very true, however, doesn't change the fact he was the best player in that draft by a fair margin. He has the same problems that Pickens has, and to a lesser extent Jones has. Enough UGA guys have almost been a problem where I'd start to avoid them. Juice isn't worth the squeeze.

Zero accountability in the UGA program.

Raise your hand if you are surprised that he won 3.

Well 2 of the wins came against AJ McCarron who had started a whopping 3 games in his career and Matt Moore who had started an astounding 3 games over the five previous season.

So a real murder’s row of QBs Tomlin stared down for the Ws.

Imagine if the Tomlin apologists actually dug into the last 15 years of Tomlin’s playoff resume and had to explain away that his only legit win in that time was agt Alex Smith.

Sadly, that is the recipe to win in today's college football. Urban Meyer's teams always had problem players. Christ, he had players who murdered people. But, those players lead to wins.

I was one of the few that was happy when he left Ohio St.

Regarding UGA, they have a serious accountability problem that’s just getting worse and worse

I kinda like this angle. Rodgers could bottom us out like Russ or Fields never could

I'm dubious as so far this team has been QB proof bar Trubisky. But I think with the defensive line ageing out and ARod's ability to bring the drama, maybe it would happen.

Rodgers could create such turmoil it would be entertaining to watch.

I just wanna sign fields and roll with it, tbh.

And the OL hasn't developed under Meyer yet here we are. You really don't have to defend EVERYTHING that Tomlin does. Your fealty is noted by all. HIs refusal to hire quality assistants is no longer a secret.
Nothing to defend if Tomlin couldn’t fire Canada Art wasn’t going to fire Meyer

I think if we take Kyle McCord I'll be very, very happy. I didn't watch a ton of Syracuse, but he is a supremely talented individual. If he ran a 4.6 he'd be in a top 10 discussion, I think. If he's there in the 4th round, I absolutely take him. 3rd round, I very seriously consider. Underrated prospect.

It's evident, honestly. And I think this is where these big programs are going to start to fall. They just let these guys do whatever they want so they stay there and play football, but they turn out horrible professionals. Going to college is about getting to the pros - if you're a f***-up of a kid and you don't want to get yourself straight, go to UGA.

With Army and Navy being successful this year, I almost want the service to make it more beneficial for better players be willing to go to service academies again. I'm just so tired of seeing the same teams every year.

Stafford would probably be 1A for me if he became available and the price wasn't insane. That's if we're picking the "try and compete again" lane. Although if the Rams decide to part ways with him, that would give me some caution as I trust McVay and co. have a good read on how much he has left in the tank. I've seen some rumors about a Stafford+Kupp trade package but I don't know how feasible that is.

1B is sign Fields if Stafford isn't interested or made available by the Rams.

Not totally opposed to Rodgers, I actually think you could make the argument that him being another year removed from the achilles injury has him more comfortable with his own body/limitations and would be in line for a rebound. I'm just not betting on it.

I'm cool with taking a dice roll on McCord on day 3 even if we sign one of the aforementioned veteran QB's. We need to be taking multiple swings at the position.

Ik outside of Columbus the Buckeyes were getting shit on for being religious but it worked out for them in the end.
