OT: The Pittsburgher Thread: Ploff wins?!? Fire Tomlin

If this doesn't prove to thie organization that cheaping out on offense doesn't work in modern football nothing will.

They spent all this money on defense with a "defensive specialist" coach and they have been getting torched for weeks.
Please take money from the defense and invest it in the offense

When Al Michaels (1st half) talked about Tomlin being a "masterclass coach", I turned it off.

Can't wait for another year of Tomlinisms and 9-10 wins with a 1st round playoff blowout.

That's now 9 years since the Steelers last playoff win, extending their longest streak without a win in the Super Bowl era. Last time Tomlin's Steelers beat a starting QB in the playoffs, 2010.

EDIT:
Correction, forgot about Alex Smith being the true starter for KC in 2016.

This is probably the least I’ve cared after a playoff loss. It’s just Groundhog Day at this point.

No changes will be made but I hope those two drives in the second half don’t convince them they should run it back with Wilson. No point in wasting a season on a vet that’s not gonna get you over the hump.

It is actually hilarious that for years at this point the Steelers offense has been at its best when they totally abandon their original gameplan.

They are the football equivalent of a hockey team trying to win by recreating the Broad Street Bullies in 2025. It is embarassing.

It is more likely they run it back with all the coaches and russ at qb than any other real change being made. And that is terribly sad
Idk why the Rooney's can't accept that this team is not remotely close to competing for titles and a reset is needed. Dump every aging asset on defense for whatever you can get, go into 2025 with a journeyman QB on a 1-2 year deal, and see how high of a pick you end up with for the 2026 draft which is IN PITTSBURGH.

The Steelers offense only did anything when the Ravens were up by 21 points. Congrats to Wilson for padding his stats when the other team is playing soft

I mean... that's guaranteed. Real talk, half this board thought Russ was good. (no offense)

Tomlin is a 9 win coach. He can't and won't win anything more and Rooney is perfectly fine with that.

Hopefully Khan and Weil are able to convince them to go that route.

Sign Fields, draft a guy in the 4th-5th round and trade every vet but Cam. Get a 1st+ for TJ. Trade Minkah for something.

I’m not gonna celebrate or anything when Tomlin decides he’s done because I think we’ll find out that things can get worse, but I don’t know how they can convince themselves not to at least try something different. Other than desperately clinging on to the “Steelers way”.
