Reed has intriguing switchability and defensive athleticism and tenacity, but he's been non-functional offensively. You don't need spacing from a backup 5, but he's not even effective as a roller. He exists. There's a bit of Thybulle to his game right now: the defensive highs are high, the offensive lows are lows, and there's too many games where he toggles to unplayable.

Bassey flashed as a more traditional 5 but similarly looked vaguely ineffective here too -- though, yes, we know Doc gave him close to zero rope. Much as failed development is a major topic on other threads here, there's a disconnect. The staff wants to show Maxey and say, "See?!" But he's a complicated case.

Tucker is supposedly still recovering from off season surgery, so why isn't he rehabbing or at least coming off the bench in limited minutes until he's in game shape - because he's painfully slow.

Harrell is fine, big body with some offensive skill, problem is he's vertically challenged so you don't want him matched up againt 7'0 centers.

Reed is an energizer bunny, showed some scoring touch in the G-league, think it's just a matter of patience with him, but he makes things happen.

House is a nice guy, but not much of a B-ball player so far, at least Melton can play.

Forgive me, my people. Anyone with two eyes could tell that this guy doesn't give a shit about the game. It's a means to an end. Now that is perfectly acceptable for a lot of athletes as a ton of them don't actually enjoy what they do but they do it because they're good at it but it doesn't work with Simmons' mental makeup.

Oh look more evidence of fraud by Simmons but hey this is no surprise to those of us who had him tagged as such despite the arrogant accusations that we were "embarrassing ourselves" and other pot shots.

Simmons hates the game of basketball ....I mean he was interviewed at LSU and pretty much said basketball was just his ticket to IG fake fame and ill gotten gains (money). He continues to expose himself as one of the biggest bums to ever play in the NBA.

Watching the 1996 NBA draft...I mean Sixers took Iverson at 1 and we know it wasn't so bad even with Ray Allen, Kobe and Steve Nash in that draft but hillarious that the Celtics drafted Antoine Walker...

Edit: To clarify...Walker was by no means a bust but hilarious they didn't get Kobe ...thank God!

But I thought the media and fans in Philly were why he struggled so much

The fans were meanies and they were the cause of his lazy ass ways for all those seasons where he showed no growth in his game. The fans were embarrassing themselves by focusing on his lack of shooting prowess when he did so many other things so well. The Philly fans and media ran him out of town and destroyed his superstar potential...lol

lolz

"Let's go back over these numbers," Wilbon started. "The Nets gave up 153 points. They lost to Sacramento, a team that never makes the playoffs, by 32. The first half was a 19-point spread. What that tells me is that for most of the game, it was garbage time. You score, I score, and nobody cares. Ben Simmons goes and gets 11 points in 20 minutes of garbage time. Any 8th man or 9th man on any team in the league could do that and do better. So to ask if this is a silver lining, my response is are you kidding?"

"We are concerned with Ben Simmons because he got double figures for the first time all year, and we think it's important. My point is, we waste a lot of time on Ben Simmons,"
Wilbon sentenced. "To some people, Ben Simmons is an interesting case study. He was an All-Star, then he ran afoul of his coaches and teammates in Philadelphia. Now he's not there anymore, he's on another team, and he's got a different game. He's not a very good player at the moment. And that's what the Nets are all about. They got Ben Simmons, who is disaffected; they got the problematic Kyrie Irving; they got tremendously unhappy all the time Kevin Durant. They're the land of lost toys."

Maxey is doing his part but the Sixers are going to need similar production from Embiid if they’re going to have any chance to win this game.

Of course no sooner do I say that than he gets hurt. F**k
