Cut down several danger trees and half-way hangers waiting to block my driveway or fall on the neighbor's shed (his tree). I actually blew this off the last couple weekends because it was like trying to predict where the Plinko disc would fall. Went better than expected...still alive. 20 years ago I unknowingly signed up for a life as an amateur logger...little did I know...

I have stew meat thawing. Same idea - we are supposed to be in the upper 20's in a few days.

I’ve got half of my chest freezer full of soups I’ve made the past couple of months. 13 bean & Italian sausage, chicken bacon ranch, gumbo, spicy Italian sausage and Parmesan, Korean beef with chilies, and when I feel like being unhealthy, taco soup.

Comes in handy when the temperature drops like it has the past couple of days. Especially seeing if I forget to pull some out, it’s a 10 second walk to my apartment to pull one out in the middle of the day.

Buffalo Chicken Soup in the crockpot today for the games and Monday

Need a neon You Loot, I Shoot sign on your front door

We had a weird moment a few days ago - the GF mentioned "a kid" came to the door to ask if we wanted any garbage thrown out for a few bucks. I think he may have been casing. Granted, I have two good sized dogs and keep everything locked up. But at least one of my immediate neighbors had his car window smashed in.

Dogs are a good deterrent, I just know that in this day and age I'd be packing

the weird obsession with massive trucks is weird to me. They've gotten so cartoonishly massive in the last 15 years. If someone doesn't need to tow a 747 or a full size bed, the ridgeline seems like a reasonable choice.
I would suggest a Toyota Tacoma over a Ridgeline. But, a lot depends on what you need the truck for.

Anybody ever get swollen fingertips after scraping ice off a car? Is this normal or should I go see a doctor?

Crappy cloth gloves. Can't find my winter gloves as I haven't needed them in years.
with the temps I expect you're experiencing, plus wet and icy fingers, I'd wait a bit and see if they reduce in swelling in a warm house. But, I'm no doctor, but I know we have some on here...

they're already better, but still a little swollen and tender. It's been 2 hours.

Try what I had to do for the swelling for my broken hand. Alternate between putting them in hot water and cold water for two minutes at a time for 15 minutes. And open and close your hand while doing so.

Actually I’m still doing that every night because I broke it again, but I’m refusing to go to the hospital to get a cast on. Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to do this apartment renovation I’m doing.

46° today and 63° tomorrow. I'd like to say that our winter is over but I feel mother nature has at least one more kick to the balls in store for us this year.

We had a freeze in the areas around us last night. Thankfully, the dogs make great space heaters.
