OT: The OT Thread: Maybe spring has sprung... (Warning in post 368)

I'm sorry you and your family are going through that. Glad she finally got something.
Thank you all, friends. We are blessed no matter the circumstance. My wife wanted to blame herself, and even seeing the company do it to others she thought that it wouldn't ever be her turn. My response throughout was why are people in such a rush to return to Egypt once they have been delivered out of it? The blessing doesn't cap out - and it certainly isn't tied to a location.

The job search was frustrating and full of rejections - and realistically it is understandable given our age. I know others have been looking for a lot longer and the opportunities are few. In our case we get to claim a victory. I lift up those still looking.

Aww man, facebook just pulled up an old memory. It was the last time I hung out with Sig in NYC prior to his passing.

That was 9 years ago.

I miss that cranky bastard. I'm sure the zinger's he'd have for Adams would have at least kept us entertained during this shit time to be a Sabre fan.
He pops up in my memories a lot because of all the funny comments he'd make on my posts. I never got to meet him, but we always had great chats online. I miss him a lot.

I didn't realize I had mentioned similar things like this to my daughter until she referred to FB as "Deathbook" because of the reminders of those who have gone.

And yeah, miss him too.

mcadoo mcadoo mcadoo. gramma worked at the aud back then, had some felt pendants, had the shoney sings record, got in to some stallions games & bisons at the rockpile. f*** i'm old.

I remember being at a game at the rockpile when someone fouled a ball off one of the metal columns and it struck a senior citizen behind us in the arm, broke her wrist.

I think my parents may have the Schoenfeld album in their crate of old vinyl still.

This cat knows exactly how much Sudafed you can get for a catalytic converter

Springing the youngest a little early today so he can come with us to Nate's game.

His last two classes of the day are math and study hall. And his math class is day 2 of a two day test and he finished yesterday. He is doing well in math and regularly finishes his tests early.

So, we don't have an issue with taking him for another "college visit."

And Wednesdays are his "mom's day." I just checked with her to see if he asked if it was OK if he went with us to the game. She said "he informed me" and she was fine with it.

We've lost a lot of good ones.

So normally Monday is my "day off". I try to not be driving after spending 20-24 hours behind the wheel over the previous three days. I have just about enough function to do some housework and such. Having moved at the start of the month, I'm still unpacking and organizing. Feels like I'm doing this on my own. *sigh*

My coworker asked me and another dude if 100 people could beat up a gorilla. I said once the first 5 get torn apart, the other 95 would dip. Now the question is if 200 people could kill a polar bear, and man- you couldn't pay me enough to be part of that crew.

It's hilarious because it seems like only the black people I know are talking about this, and it's blown up on social media, but again- Ive only noticed black people talking about it. My favorite response someone said involved having the entire 2003 Detroit Pistons team, Mike Tyson in his prime, etc...

Could 200 people with no weapons could kill a hungry polar bear? I think people are too weak willed to fight after seeing the polar bear maul 10-15 people.

100 people can't simultaneously attack anything. Even if a couple people were able to hang on to each of the legs/arms (depending on the animal) how many others could try to hold its head or break its neck. It's more like 10-12 v 1 and they are unlikely to be successful.

Maybe 100 people could defeat the animal because it would be full and lethargic after nibbling its way through 50 or 60 people, lol
