Marginal depth player?

Gustav Forsling just improved over time pretty consistently. He joined Panthers when he was, what, 24? And had a steady trajectory.

So whoever ends up being what you described, it won't be the next Forsling.

Honestly, for a good number of players where you land truly does impact your ability to have a good career.

like it would not surprise me to see Broberg end up playing well in Stl because he gets to remain on the left side plus, play with more defensively sound partners than the situation he would have in Edm if they matched.

Forsling was a case of a prospect who ended up in multiple organizations that had a lot of competition for depth spots on the blue line. Someone has to be the odd man out. If you want to find another guy like this, look at the teams with a lot of depth at a particular position and look for the 23 year old who’s just barely on the wrong side of the cut line.

He's been given a chance to be the man with easy match ups and pp time on every team he has ever been on lol

He's unhealthy/injured a lot because his mind doesn't process the game fast enough and he gets smoked with hits. Like badly lol
Boqvist is 4 years younger than Forsling and you could easily could said that about Forsling 4 years ago.

What are you talking about? He spent a full year in the minors/taxi squad 6 years after being drafted. He was claimed off waivers.

He was impactful right away with the Panthers, only now is he really starting to become a household name and taken leap to Norris level.

His trajectory for a caliber of his player was not steady or normal....

Think you might have skipped the chapters where he was a marginal depth defenseman between ages of 18-23, hence the point of the thread.

Probably whoever Bill Zito gets
Jesper Boqvist is the future

Someone who shoots free out of vegas could be that guy.

Maybe Miromanev

Hoping Vincent Desharnais. His defensive metrics were always pretty strong but it seemed that clearing the puck was his weakness. Probably won't happen but if he ever sees time with Hughes he could really be a strong defensive presence next to the smaller but nimble captain and can help solidify things on their own end.

Lol yeah such a defensively sound d structure that they missed the playoffs while the Oilers went to game seven. How stupid did this post sound in your head when you came up with it?

Unless he dramatically improves his foot speed, honestly don't think so.
