The Isles' offseason has forced a new rebuild, this team is dramatically worse than it has been in a few years, by just losing 3 key guys and adding a very bad contract (Ladd) and an old timer (Chimera). They will get a lottery pick this year and the idea that JT will stay here when his time is up is now become a huge fantasy.

Maybe time to bring in a new GM right away and start dealing away

JT can yield 3 very good players, and he probably won't sign here when his time is up, so you can deal him to a team like LA with a package of Toffoli Pearson and maybe 2 more players.

It is a very radical thought, but he is going to leave here in under 2 seasons and go somewhere else where he can win and the Isles's bad contracts like Ladd and Kulemin will limit our ability to sign him.

We dealt Lafontaine for Turgeon and Hogue and we won that trade for sure. We need a quantity of offensive players right now, the roster is very limited

We can deal Halak fora young forward.

This team will struggle to get to 80 points with current roster configuration.

New GM takes over now and starts the rebuild and then brings in Dineen to coach the team next year.

Not usually gloom and doom, but this team needed to add one or 2 players and retain all their guys to move to the next level, now they are back where they were in the late 2000's.
