Very impressive. Overcoming the early PP of the bolts and looking amazing.

They fed of that and the crowd. Played amazing in all 3 zones.

It was Colton he hit, no?

Tough to see a suspension given he basically missed the whole game

Yep, sorry, that's who I meant.

Either way - "whoever" he hit not missing a single shift, while he missed the entire game, should probably save him from supplementary discipline. I'd still have his ass nailed to the press box for game 2 though. Bonehead

Fantastic effort from top to bottom.

Matthews and Marner were dominant on the scoresheet, showed up big time.

Penalty kill was absolutely stellar in every sense of the word. Toronto made Tampa Bay look like an ECHL team on their powerplay, it wasn't even close tonight.

Kudos to Kase for coming in after a few months off due to injury and chipping in two assists.

Campbell didn't need to be dominant, as he didn't need to be the x-factor, but he looked great. He continued right where he left off in his previous regular season game... with a shutout.

I have ZERO complaints with their performances. ZEROOOOOOOO.

We're forgetting the Leaf factor in that Clifford hit.

At least a game. maybe 2.

What works in his favour his he got a game misconduct and the hit was less than 10 minutes into the game. So he's basically served a game now.
It's crazy because I recall Boston making that same hit multiple times against us and it didn't even get 2 mins. Not upset at the penalty call, upset at consistency. If he gets suspended, I won't even be surprised at this point tbh.

How many games does Clifford get for that boarding hit?
So far this year, we have seen 3 supplemental decisions for boarding
-1 regular season game
-1 regular season + 1 preseason game (1.5 games)
-2 regular season games

So, it averages out to 1.5 games for a boarding call.

Now, playoff games are traditionally weighted as 2 games and you see the duration of suspensions shortened accordingly in the playoffs, due to the importance of the games, so reducing that 1.5 games down to a 1 game playoff suspension seems accurate.
This also aligns with Sam Bennett being suspended 1 game for Boarding in last year's playoffs.

Factor in Colton stayed in the game and was not injured and that Clifford effectively already served a full game with his misconduct...

And then factoring in it is the Leafs...

Probably 2 to 3 games is a safe bet.

He lit the match.

Simmonds owns TB every time he steps on the ice. I really hope Clifford isn’t suspended because as long as he can just chill with hits from behind he is valuable out there. Loved seeing him and Simmonds smack the bolts around like b*tches.
