That's a weird statement to make considering the fact Tampa lost this game very similarly to how they lost against Columbus(Leafs were limiting their skill game by hitting, being aggressive, playing fast, etc). It's not that Tampa can't show better effort but it's not like you'll see a significantly different style of hockey and that's sort of the problem. But i guess we'll see...

This is the Mikeyhev I wanted to see during durng the playoff series against the Habs, he was just a handful out their using his speed and his body to hound the puck and this game is also a remainder at how good a healthy Kase is as a depth forward.
Well thank you and all the other fans for the shift they put into tonight. I really don't remember seeing or hearing a Leafs home crowd carry on like that from start to finish.
Yeah i hit octaves i never knew i had when the line brawl started in the 3rd. Tampa wants to goon it up? Well we can play that way too and kick your ass on the scoreboard.

The TB broadcast has the Rielly punch on it and I'm really worried right now. Looks more like he missed and punched the ice an Ruuta cut came from his head hitting the ice on the take down

In the 8-1 slapping Leafs took, several hot mic moments occurred and fans heard Maroon and other Bolts calling Leafs players p***yes and soft.
Leafs players definitely remembered that and paid it forward in Game 1.

Can we agree that the Clifford boarding was a major but at the same time if this was Maroon doing it to Engvall, there was no way the refs were going to give us a 5 min PP to start the game?
It’s similar to the Matthews suspension. Yes in a vacuum it’s a suspension but no one else besides a Leafs player with no history got suspended 2 games for that.
