Too many men is on the players not the coach.
Yes they need to clean that up.

It's Keefe's fault, I don't know if it's, the players, ownership but somebody needs to tell him to cut the bullshit because now It's costing OT PP chances, next It's going to cost wins.

It’s only going to get worse now with reputation calls getting mixed into the equation like we saw last night. Just one of those things where if you’re not taking care of details and controlling what you can the game comes to bite you in the behind.

This is a seriously hot narrative "coaches penalties"

The real question is Keefe finally going to be able to discipline these guys and get them under control, or is it too late?

Any new coach coming in will have to have a green light to use his bench or the press box. All those too many men penalties are due to a team that lacks discipline.

You guys just wrote off that apology last year like it was nothing. It wasnt nothing it threw a huge wrench into Keefes ability to coach this team. I will say this and that is whoever ordered him to do that has to own this teams lack of discipline.

It was the same problem under Babcock and there has been a lot of roster turn over from those seasons until now.

After seeing how they receive penalties, game misconducts, instigators, suspensions any time they try to stand up for each other or play tough, I have to wonder if part of the problem is officiating.

It could be the case that pretty much every team commits these too many men penalties, but the Leafs get called for it because they don't have the same leeway with officials that the other teams might.

He’s the coach so ultimately he’s responsible for everything but he’s not telling them to jump on early. Lack of concentration by the players.

How is it on the coach when too many guys jump on the ice? Pretty sure Keefe has been annoyed by it.

It's a pretty simple concept that you learn in tyke, you replace your position coming off. Don't know what is going through the players heads.

Last night was not even a penalty... we take too many, but saying we took one last night was literally just the refs trying to find a way to even things out.

I don't see where the TMM is, the person coming on and person going off weren't in the play.

I bet if Florida isn't yelling it doesn't get called

I don't give a f*** how annoyed by it he is.

If you are that annoyed by it, fix it.

He hasn't.

Irrelevant that was #8 you don't get cut ANY slack when you are on pace for 33 coaching penalties.

Even if they got that one wrong it doesn't matter because they don't deserve the benifit of the doubt.

Speak for yourself, I said at the time that if he was a man he would have told both Kyle and the media to go f*** themselves instead of walking back those comments.

But he didn't because he's a bitch boy.

Cant they solve this with some technincal AI-device in there jockstrap that vibrates and give electric shock when it is there turn to go out on ice. Not being aloud to move before that happens. Would make hockey even more entertaining and the player on there toes. opposite could aso work, u can not cross the board before its your turn then you get a electric shock.

But maby Tampa bay Lighting should test this out first.

"Jeff O’Neill thinks the influx of too many men penalties makes the coach look disorganized behind the bench"

Who's the bench boss?

Sheldon Keefe. He's the head coach. He's the one in charge of managing the bench.

That's why he gets paid the big bucks.

Just another example of Keefe not being able to control his players. We saw that on full display with his outburst towards Bertuzzi. Did anyone else notice Bertuzzi completely ignored Keefe.

Same way Bunting did.

Bunting didn't get to take a game off for insubordination. I doubt Bertuzzi will either. At this point I can't even count how many times Keefe has been made a fool by his players.

He's the clown that keeps getting kicked in the nuts and apologizes for it after.

Keefe needs to go. We just need a losing streak. He has been lucky this far. 5 regulation wins everything else is a gamble.

Marner needs to score on our own net one of of these days doing a dipsy doodle no look pass play on the 360 spin on one edge.

Then we can trade him.

Toxic entitled crap going on with this bunch.

I played 1 year for Bert Templeton, if he was pissed at you and ripping you on the bench it was best to not to do anything but listen and take it.

If you turned to a teammate after it was over and snickered or said anything you got told to pack your stuff, leave and don't look back unless you were Mark Howe or something.

If a coach wants to be a hard ass in today's little boy sensitive league you end up like Darryl Sutter who lost his job while the players are still taking shifts off, letting go of their checks and not respecting the process.

It's sad/funny that the guys at the bottom of the payroll are the ones who have to show up every shift, the guys at the top have lots of runway.

I agree that Keefe hasn't got full control, it's the NMC now that rules the roost. Back in the day everybody had to be accountable and pretty much there were no shifts off let alone whole games.

The inmates are running the asylum and I'm not sure how that gets changed. A team like Florida is lucky to have a guy like Tkachuk who refuses to accept losing, who hates to lose puck battles or even foot races and because there's a few other guys on the team who are the same way it spreads itself throughout the whole team.

If you've ever played with guys like that, your own play elevates, you get more aggressive and you just don't accept losing. It's either that or you look for somewhere else to play because it quickly becomes apparent that you don't belong.

The guy who wanted all the money, doesnt look like he cares some of the time, sometimes takes shifts off and doesn't always show up on the ice where he should show up. He was allowed to get away with it, first because he was young and then because he was a superstar and because he introduced Kyle to the Biebs, and that gave him an open door to the Dubes, and a back seat for Shelly

Completely agree. The first couple times, some blame can be directed on the coach if he is shouting out different players and positions and things get crossed up. 7 times now, or whatever it is, is all on the players. Know who you are going to take.
