The Jersey Thread IV

  • We're expecting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.
  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
Want to get a nameplate for my blank CBJ 3rd jersey. Is this only a Blueline thing or do I have other options?

But be prepared to wait 3 months for it after you send it in. Frankly the blueline is probably fine. Unless they've changed policiesm if you want it stitched they send it out with decent turnaround and its not terrible. It's better than the in store heat press.

Went to the Blueline store in Polaris and they told me they expect it to be four weeks and it wasn't a crazy price (I wanted just a customized name plate and numbers on the sleeves but no big number on the back).

Its been a while since I asked to have one stitched. How muc are they charging now? I feel like it was $75 on the last one I did.

I know Exclusive Pro is expensive and high quality. I splurged from them once and got jerseys of players I thought would be here a long time. Turned into a big waste of money on my Josh Anderson 3rd and PLD away jersey.

That basically swore me away from paying for a high quality customized jerseys. I learned to accept the cheaper replicas since we can never keep anyone long term here.

  • So a full ride (stitched on name plate, number on back and sleeves) is $85.
  • I wanted a stitched on name plate and number on sleeves (no number on the back) which was $40 for the name plate and $8 for the sleeve numbers so $48 total.
I thought that was reasonable since I'd bought the 3rd jersey so long ago. It's a Reebok which pre-dates Adidas which predates Fanatics.

I agree with you, I'd only get a player's name and number if they are throwback, something that will always be respected around the rink.

Was unsure where to post this so mods please move if necessary. Working on my jersey project and am in need of a #80 Kivlenieks patch similar to the #13 Johnny patch the CBJ gave out at the home opener. Did not find one online...any suggestions?

Should we start guessing what the outdoor game jersey will look like in this thread and see who has the best guess?

The way 99% of the merch has went so far, it will be OSU themed... I WANT to be wrong.

Then again, the one bright side to that is it would save me $$$

My guess is similar to a reverse retro but with the current logo. So that gets the red to play in Ohio stadium. Maybe Buckeye leaves instead of stars on the cuffs.

I'm trying to buy a jersey for Christmas, but the logo on the new ones looks like this on the fanatics website, which is incorrect. Anyone bought a Fanatics jersey yet? Did they really use the wrong logo? How's the quality? I've had terrible experience with fanatics before so I'm a little gunshy.

Ok, I'm going to bite here.

What's wrong with it?

It looks like a sticker instead of stitched on

See where the star overlaps the flag. The star on the fanatics mockup is missing the silver outline that overlaps the top of the flag.

Well the Breakaway jerseys have always looked cheap because they are.

I think the logo itself is just the logo but the quality of the materials is suspect when the log has a lot of detail to it. Simpler logos look better and less distinguishable between high and low quality jerseys.

In person I don't think it looks terrible but you notice the lower quality of the materials. That being said, the Breakaway jerseys are pretty comfortable. They still look better than chinese knockoffs.

I'm not really bothered by plasticy logos or sweater materials that aren't true to what the players wear. I'm just looking for a jersey that gets our logo right. My question is is the logo correct or incorrect on the new jerseys IRL or did fanatics just leave off those details in the online mockup? The quality of the materials shouldn't ever change any part of the logo. It should be the exact same logo regardless of whether it's embroidered or printed.

I think they look the same in person.

Oh wow. Now, I am certainly not an expert on this, so please don't take my word for it... But it sure seems like it's a quality downgrade on the Breakaway jerseys this season.

Looking at the NHL.com shop, ALL the men's Breakaway CBJ jerseys have the "wrong" logo as in your picture example. ALL the women's have the "correct" logo. ALL the premium ones have the correct logo.

I have a Laine Breakaway jersey from 1.5 years ago. It has the correct logo, I just checked. I cannot remember how the picture looked on the website but given how the logo is consistently wrong in the men's Breakaway models this year, I would be very cautious about chalking it up to just an image error on the website... This is Fanatics after all.

Some of the other teams seem to have some tiny tiny differences too, but nothing as blatant as the CBJ one. (Predators looks like it's a bit truncated on the Breakaways, Penguins one has almost no visible white on the left glove thumb, but maybe these could be just the angles of the photos, or about the techniques and colors.)

Something so obvious might be visible in some crowd photos taken this year at Nationwide, or maybe you can find pictures of the Blue Line Store if they sell the same ones? Answering my own question: Blue Line has the same jerseys, and consistently the men's Breakaway jerseys are missing those logo parts. I couldn't find my way around the internet to find any proper crowd pictures or closeups from the Blue Line store.

Maybe call the Blue Line store?

I noticed the issue last summer when Fanatics first took over so I’ve been looking all season to see if I spot the error on any fans and I haven’t noticed any so far, which makes me think it may just be a mistake on the online mockup, but it’d be very Fanatics of them to use a bad vector file to print the new jerseys. Their quality control is laughable. I have zero trust in that company so I figured I’d ask if anyone’s bought a jersey online this season since the fanatics takeover and could let me know what logo is on the front. .
