Confirmed with Link: The Jakob Chychrun Thread (update: 3/25/25 | signs 8-year, $72M extension)

I think Ted will pay to the max, regardless. So it’s all about allocation of money to spend. Right?

Not IF it will be spent. It’ll be spent
He’s going to spend when it’s needed, not prematurely.

I think it would already be signed otherwise. I’m betting they’re stuck on AAV.

So those that like the short term deal of 9.5 for say 2 or 3 years are definitely on to something
Given his current season and his age, I'm fairly sure there are a number (greater than 1) of teams that would give him a large number at max term. Why would he sign for 3 years, risking a blown-out knee (or something). Dude is in the best position possible.

Still hoping he loves the vibes and culture here.

What max number and what term? You think someone will give him 11-12m x 7?

IMO, the “need” is to get that larger number in years 4-8, from his camp. Which 8-9m probably won’t be.

If someone wants to give him 11-12m x 7, well….vayos con dios, JC6. Thanks for the memories.

Don't know. Just know that there are a number of bad and/or desperate GM's.

yep… that is right where I thought it would be. Glad we locked him in for 8 years. Thought short term was possible but as i have been saying since day 1, he knows what a bad org looks like, and Caps are not that. Just took some time to iron it out. Great outcome for both sides.
