so one poor game is the end of a goalie? like c'mon Hildeby played great last season and 8 games this year weather good or bad is not enough sample to just make a switch, the plan this year was for Hildeby to get a few NHL games when one of our goalie's got hurt and so they should continue with that plan.
It's not one poor game, he's not even averaging .900
in the AHL. If it was one poor game and then he went down and lit it up, fine, he deserves to be called up.
Instead, it's one poor game - followed by going to the AHL and being the worst goalie on the Marlies to being rewarded with a call up? We have 2 back to backs coming up so it's not even like he'll ride the bench, he's likely to play unless we're risking an injury prone Woll on back to back nights twice in a week.
The last game he played in the AHL he got pulled with a .826 save percentage.. and so now we're going to give him an NHL start? Three of his last 4 AHL starts were under an .876 save percentage.
We're calling up a goalie who's actively struggling in the AHL recently, who was just pulled in his last game. I'm assuming you haven't been following him?
The only way you can rationalize this is that Stolarz is basically healthy and will be ready by Sunday. Otherwise, you're risking just throwing away games. Hildeby definitely didn't earn this call up with his recent play. Artur is 8-0-1, hasn't lost in regulation all season, and is rocking an .929 save percentage. If there's even a chance that one of them has to play, I'd rather it be AA.
