If I'm NYI, I don't consider trading Sorokin to a divisional rival unless I'm getting back something of substantial value. Your offer is more quantity over quality and more importantly, it doesn't hurt enough.

Start with Mercer and add from there.

Does inevitable have a new definition I am unaware of?

Do you think that the Islanders signed him to a big, multi year extension just this year only to trade him if they are out of the playoffs this year?

Absolutely not. Isles have failed in front of h in this year but he’s by far their most important and best player. You don’t trade a goalie like this.

Hes only 28. He’s also the most talented goalie in islanders history.

Trading an elite goaltender with an 8 year contract because the current the team is likely to miss the playoffs… LMAO!

Devils had their chance in the offseason to upgrade to an elite goaltender but decided to cheap out. Oh well! :)

NYI isn't trading Sorokin. The Devils should have ponied up for Helleybuck or one of the Boston goalies. I suppose Saros could be available potentially...

If NYI are out of the playoffs at the deadline....

To NJD:
Ilya Sorokin

To NYI:
Alexander Holtz
Arseni Gritsyuk
2025 1st round pick
Josh Filman
Vitek Vanecek

Goalies don't have the value that most folks want to think.

First, I doubt that this offer is even extended and second, I doubt the Islanders decline.

Filmon and Gritsyuk are meh, but Holtz, Vanacek and the 1st is probably a good start.

The Islanders need to start looking ahead as their system is weak and they are an older bunch.

I know this post will get shit on. Point remains and is valid.

Likely to miss playoffs?

You’re way too cocky 25% of the season in. So much is going to be different in May and you’re begging to be bumped.
