Injuries happen. 2026 games will get played after what like 55-60 nhl games or something. Someone is bound to be hurt that would be on the team.

As for the game winning goal. Bad communication but that’s on Matthews. Poor decision to leave the slot in front of the net and leave McDavid all alone. He’s already in front of the net with McDavid and he saw Fox try to intercept the puck behind the net. Can’t leave McDvaid to go after Marner who is in a lower danger area. Can only go towards Marner if Fox communicates to him that he’s going to cover McDavid.

I think Drance had a valid point, Hughes is by far the most impactful player that was missing on either team, but he made it as obnoxiously as possible.
