You guys see JT talking about Trump calling the US team? We traded the right player lol.
The thing I’ve been scared to say out loud for the last few years is that, regardless of how the Canucks do, Quinn is walking in free agency to New Jersey. I think even if the team were dominating, I just feel like that’s coming.
They also have Palat and Dillon's contract coming off the book that summer, Hamilton only have 1 season left at that time and is dump-able, and the cap jumps by a lot as well, so they will have the cap space.Yes, and NJ is also just a competitive team that's trending up.

Yep, this game is a must-win.We are currently in that narrow window in our rules where politics and hockey are colliding a bit.
Reading anything coming out of the States right now - and some in Canada (PK Subban, Jesus Christ) - is nauseating. Christ I hope we win this game. One of the few times that this feels a lot bigger than just hockey.
He’s going there for sure. He’s super close with his brothers and life is too short. Why not play together?Yes, and NJ is also just a competitive team that's trending up.

I say this tongue in cheek with the discussion that has been going on here.
But guys we don't have all the medical facts. I thought we had to trust our medical team and they didn't clear him to play!
It would be bad for any American player to say that, but it's especially shameful coming from a guy who lived in Canada for six years. It shows zero respect for any of his Canadian friends and colleagues. You guys see JT talking about Trump calling the US team? We traded the right player lol.
Even if the Nucks let Hughes go, he can't play unless another D gets injured or sick. I doubt Quinn is the type that ask the coach to scratch somebody who is already there to let him play. It is probably just a matter of "why fly out here when you can't even play" situation.Did Hughes really want to go and the Canucks said no? Or was a mutual decision? That makes a huge difference. I can totally see things from Allvin's POV, especially with what happened to McAvoy.
I think most NHL players, including most Canadian players share the same beliefs unfortunately. You guys see JT talking about Trump calling the US team? We traded the right player lol.
Uhhhh yikes?
Healthy or not, you should have done whatever Quinn hughes wanted.
Piss him off when he has to resign in two years is such a bad idea.
And yes, I completely understand It’s logical for him not to go, but you have to think long-term.
Rutherford knows he’s only gonna be around for a couple years.
I hope soI would argue that they are thinking long term...in 2 years nobody is going to care about this game. He'll likely have already played in the Winter Olympics next season and nobody will care about this 4 Nations nonsense. Hughes will likely get more "positive feels" from making the playoffs and trying to make a run.
I kind of understand the point you’re trying to make, but this is not just any hockey game no matter if it’s exhibition or not, for some extra weird reason, it’s becoming a massive political storm, in our amazing sport.Should they let him go skiing at Whistler? Maybe deep sea diving off the coast? If that's the straw that broke the camel's back, he is/was never going to dig in here long term.
Not directed at you per se snd I get its a message/sounding board, but the hysteria about fartburgers in sports is hilarious.
Tocchet is a big MAGA guy. I remember when he was first hired, his twitter was full of Trump supporter stuff, anti-vax, and was following OF girls and liking porn posts.I think most NHL players, including most Canadian players share the same beliefs unfortunately.
