What lolReally they lack any type of utility especially at center. All offence no defense.
Look at the 201X goalies top drafted CAD goalies:wtf is wrong with Canada and producing goalies?
Stone will most likely be injured before the tournament start sohyman should be over stone. better finisher imo.
yeah, the olympics mean something .. this is just a all star game replacement with more steps
CoolAmerican forwards are NASTYYYY
why'd you skip canada @Vector
it could have been so much cooler
this is worse than the asg. at least that game doesn't forego like half of the top-20 scoring leaders
speaking of which, given the big preference for guys that are hot right now, surprised there's absolutely no mention of dylan strome as a snub. top-10 in points, big frame that could be effective on the fourth line. seth jarvis?? nick suzuki would have made more sense in that spot imo, or just don't galaxy brain it and take scheifele
I am very surprised Suzuki didn't make team Canada. He's an incredibly responsible, high IQ two-way player with skill that can play with anyone in any situation. I thought Cirelli - Suzuki - Stone would be the best line at the tournament.
Canada ended up with less centers (6) than they normally do, which is interesting. I thought the lack of left-handed forwards would give Lafreniere or Verhaghe an edge but they seem fine with someone playing their off wing.
Not sure why it being gimmicky would mean they would not want their best forward.it's a gimmicky as shit "tournament"
I don't really know what to make of this event. I'll watch it - and I'm sure it'll be better than the crap that has been the All Star Game/festivities the last few years. But only inviting 4 teams is a buzzkill.
Yeah, you don't know puck man.Really they lack any type of utility especially at center. All offence no defense.
Arvidsson on there is funny. Guy's far past his prime. Eklund or Zetterlund would have been better.
Why aside Russians?Aside from all the Russians, would have loved to see a throw together team of mixed countries, like they did with Team Europe at the World Cup. If everyone was healthy:
Forwards:
Draisaitl (GER)
Stutzle (GER)
Necas (CZH)
Pastrnak (CZH)
Hertl (CZH)
Chytil (CZH)
Ehlers (DEN)
Eller (DEN)
Rossi (AUT)
Kopitar (SLN)
Zuccarello (NOR)
Hischier (SWZ)
Meier (SWZ)
Defense:
Hronek (CZH)
Seider (GER)
Cernak (SLK)
Fehervary (SLK)
Gudas (CZH)
Josi (SWZ)
Siegenthaler (SWZ)
Goalies:
Silovs (LAT)
Mrazek (CZH)
Dostal (CZH)
Why aside Russians?
They should be in this tournament, same goes for every other country
they can only use nhl players and no other country has a full roster of nhlers. well except one but...
no skinner on the omissions roster is incredibly funny
Samuelson right? I remember him saying Sweden could F-offIt's underdiscussed but Sweden consistently makes the dumbest national team selections. This goes back to leaving a 30-goal scorer of the 2010 Olympic roster in favor of SHLers.
