I'll cash it in on Game 6 of the Finals, right after the Predators beat the Islanders. I hit Shea Weber with the briefcase, ref rings the bell, pin him, boom Rangers win the Cup. Or at leat that's how these things usually work.

WWE jokes aside, I'd probably save it for Henrik Lundqvist #30 retirement night.

As an Oiler fan....hahahaha. No chance.

Not worth $1000 for a regular season game.

So this begs 2 very important questions.

Would you buy one?

and also, What game (other than game 7 of the SCF) would you cash it in on?

Lastly, bonus Q: Could any NHL team actually burn through enough of these to make it viable?

I think the sole reason of this concept is to have a ticket for a championship game 'when the time comes'
I would have no intent on buying something like that if it wasn't for the big show....doesn't have to be game 7 but I'd be expecting to redeem it for a championship series.

It's a clever idea, I think it could catch on in the right markets for any of the big 4 leagues.

Imagine all the blackhawks fans buying them for Bridgestone arena for a western conference finals game against the preds.

Now if it was 1000 dollars for a ticket to go whenever you want, that you could use over and over. As long as it was regular season/not stanley cup finals that would be worth it. A lifetime ticket I guess to say.

You know thats really not a terrible deal.

Also add in the fact the brewers will never be in the WS in a while.

You also get 9 vouchers for regular season games. Pretty sweet.

Novelty item.

Maybe you use it if the best hockey team of all time happens to be your team one year and ticket prices skyrocket, or if you get a top 5 player of all time on your team at some point, or maybe you're just rich and can afford to spend that much.

Its genius. Its hard enough to make it to the Cup finals, its even harder to predict the winner in one of the four games. Now you have to see it happen on home ice?

Impossible. People will be holding onto that ticket for years, only to die never cashing it. Free money for the team.

The way ticket prices are going in places like Toronto, it won't be long before you have a bargain on your hands and you have the best seat in the house to boot. Not sure if I would laugh or cry at that point.

Yeah but you also have to remember that tickets to a baseball game are like $10. Maybe a couple hundred for playoff tickets. Unless they go to a world series, they'll probably never sell a ticket for more than $1,000. This is obviously more of a collector's toy than anything else.

There isn't a regular season game worth $1,000 and there was odds are it would be the opening game but oops, that one doesnt count....dumb if you ask me unless you just want a piece of the 1 of 1000 tickets as a collectors item. Thats hoping they don't do another marketing ploy like this again in the future.

Actually the golden ticket is valid for opening season games, its just the 9 vouchers thereafter that are not.

you're doing it wrong, it says its good anytime!

so wait until they invent a time machine and go back to the gretzky era.

i would have suggested just holding on to it til you guys win again but I'm pretty sure they'll have time machines before that happens ;)

Maybe to go see Crosby's last game or something like that.

But it would be highly unlikely I would buy such a ticket in the first place.
